A Message from Principal Cutone
Dear HES Families,
We hope this newsletter finds you well as we approach the end of another fantastic school year at our beloved elementary school. It has been a year filled with growth, learning, and unforgettable memories, and we couldn't be prouder of our amazing students!
All Shark Meeting - Fostering Citizenship
Today, we held our highly anticipated monthly All Shark Meeting, focusing on the theme of citizenship. Our student ambassadors took the stage and delivered outstanding presentations, sharing their knowledge and inspiring their peers to be responsible, engaged citizens in our community. It was truly heartwarming to see our young leaders in action, encouraging one another to make a positive difference. We applaud their efforts and commend them for being shining examples of good citizenship.
Keyboarding Competition - Justin Takes the Lead!
In the spirit of friendly competition, we hosted a thrilling keyboarding competition between our talented fourth-grade student, Justin, and our dedicated assistant principal, Ms. Joy. The stakes were high, and the atmosphere was charged with excitement as they went head-to-head. After a fierce battle, Justin emerged as the clear victor, showcasing his impressive typing skills. Congratulations, Justin, on your remarkable achievement, and kudos to Ms. Joy for being a fantastic competitor!
State Testing - A Job Well Done!
We are thrilled to announce that our third and fourth-grade students have successfully completed their state testing. They approached the exams with determination and performed admirably. We are immensely proud of their hard work and commitment to their education. We would also like to extend our appreciation to our teachers and staff for their dedication and support throughout the testing process. Great job, everyone!
Upcoming Field Trips and Celebrations
As we near the end of the school year, we have several exciting events planned for our students. We have a series of engaging field trips scheduled, which will provide valuable educational experiences and allow our students to have some well-deserved fun. Additionally, our classrooms are abuzz with end-of-year culminating projects and celebrations that showcase the incredible growth our students have achieved. We invite you to join us in applauding their accomplishments.
Thank You for Your Support
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all parents and guardians for your unwavering support throughout the school year. Your involvement, encouragement, and partnership have been instrumental in creating a thriving educational community. We truly appreciate your dedication to your child's education and the success of our school.
Enjoy the Long Holiday Weekend
Finally, as we approach the long holiday weekend, we hope you take this opportunity to relax, unwind, and spend quality time with your loved ones. It marks the beginning of summer on Cape Cod, and we hope you have a memorable and enjoyable break.
Thank you once again for being a part of our incredible school community. We look forward to celebrating the culmination of a wonderful year of learning and friendship with you in the upcoming weeks.

End of Year Notes from the Health Room
As the weather starts to heat up and the end of the school year nears, the students are able to spend more time outside for activities and recess. Yay! Here are a few reminders:
Please make sure they have a water bottle with them every day. Good hydration is an important part of learning and keeping our kids healthy. Read more about the importance of hydration here

Ticks are part of life living here on the Cape. If your child has been bitten by a tick, it is a good idea to reach out to their pediatrician. If we remove a tick here in school, the school nurse will call you to advise.
