It's September... GREYHOUNDS!
Greetings from CUSD # 9
News from the District Office
Loving Lebanon!
I can't believe we are already to September, and I can say with confidence that our district is the absolute best district around. The students, families, community, and staff make this Greyhound Nation one unlike the rest. I am so very proud to be leading this LCUSD #9. I can't wait to continue to grow, learn, and lead this extraordinary district.
As a district, we are continuing our committee work! Our LCUSD #9 Finance Committee reconvenes, Wednesday, September 6th, at 4:30pm in the LJSHS Library. Our committee will be reviewing an enrollment plan, FY24 Tentative Budget, and salary allocations for other funds/grants. The team will continue working on a financial plan for the district.
The Building and Grounds Committee will be reconvening on Tuesday, September 12th, at 4:00pm in the LJSHS Library. The team will have Bryan Reising, Justine Wasser, Kendra Kashycke, Dr. Ganey, Terry Midgley, Ms. Emrick, and Natalie Ruth. We are looking for two community members with interest in the development of our building and grounds work. If interested, please send an email to aganey@lcusd9.org.
The School Safety and Crisis Committee is currently working on coming together. Serving on the committee is Dr. Ganey, Ms. Emrick, Officer Puckett, Shawn Dow, Allison Gaubatz, Haley Wiggs, and Scott Chandler. We are looking for two community members with interest in the safety and crisis management for our district to join our team. If you are interested, please send an email to aganey@lcusd9.org.
Again, I share the utmost gratitude to the district and community for welcoming me into the Lebanon Greyhound Nation. The work ahead may be challenging but together anything is possible!
Respectfully,
Dr. Ganey
LES/LJSHS Update
No School on September 4th, 2023 for Labor Day!! Have a wonderful long weekend!
Elementary-We have had a great start to the school year. Students and staff are working so hard. We have a book fair next week and Grandparents Day on Friday. We are so excited about the events next week. Elementary students also have picture day on September 14th.
Jr. High- Junior High students have been working on earning points in their houses. The new behavior system is working well. Students had their first house assembly today with their first competition. The energy was high and the students had so much fun. We continue to look for ways to build good humans and create a positive school atmosphere. Students have all completed the Star 360 test, so we will be communicating with families about students who may need additional support. We are thankful that we have new staff that can help make all students successful. Softball and baseball are off to a great start.
High School- High School students have hit the ground running. They are working, studying and learning so much. I walk through the school and can see the engagement that is occurring in the classrooms. I cannot wait to see all the success this school year. Volleyball, soccer and cross country are working so hard and putting forth maximum effort. We continue to see growth on the court and the field. Picture day for the Junior/Senior High school is September 7th.
