Important Upcoming Dates

  • July 25th - Office Reopens
  • August 1st - Registration - grades 8-12 - 8 a.m to 6.p.m.
  • August 1st - 7th Grade Orientation - 6:30 p.m.
  • August 2nd - Registration - grades 8-12 8 a.m to 3 p.m.
  • August 8th - Teacher First Day - Office open but Administration not available.
  • August 9th - First Day of School

Registration / 7th Grade Orientation

Students in Grades 8-12 should come to registration on August 1 or August 2nd. Incoming 7th graders do not need to attend registration, and but should make plans to attend the 7th grade orientation on Monday, August 1st at 6:30 p.m.

Welcome to New Staff Members!

At the end of last school year, Mrs. Grimm announced her retirement after over 25 years of service at Southern Wells. Additionally, Mrs. Hanauer, Mrs. Hedden and Mr. Mann left to take new positions. We want to thank each of them for their work and dedication to our school and students, and wish them well in their new endeavours.


Because of these departures we've been busy working on adding new personnel to our team. We want to welcome the following new staff members:


Kim Brewster has been hired to teach Spanish. Mrs. Brewster is a 13 year teaching veteran, spending her career so far at Adams Central. Mrs. Brewster is a Raider alum, and looks forward to rejoining Raider Nation.


Tricia Tucker has been hired to teach in our Social Studies department. As many know, Mrs. Tucker has served our district for many years as a substitute teacher and has played a vital role in our school community. She will teach Junior High Social studies and World History.


Brandy Eltzroth will be moving up from the elementary where she served as an instructional assistant last year, and will be assisting high school students under the direction of Mrs. McClain.


We also welcome Robert Mangus to the staff as our new Assistant Principal/Athletic Director. Mr. Mangus comes to us from Blue River Valley Jr/Sr High where he taught English and assisted the Athletic Director. He will be responsible for our Athletic Program as well as attendance and student discipline.


Welcome all new member of the Raider Team.

Reminder on Athletic Physicals

Just a quick reminder that in order to participate in athletics this fall, students must have a physical on the IHSAA form filed with the Athletic Office. Physical forms can be picked up at the high school office or from your coach.
