Please put the teacher's name who you are writing to as these are for all teachers in a grade level. Then, on a specific date and time TBD, pop some popcorn and log onto a Zoom Video chat where we'll all watch the videos together! If you want to participate, email your video to Lisa White by 5pm on Thursday, May 14. Include the names of the family members in it, the song title, and if you grant permission to have it featured on the CCE PTO Facebook page. Not sure how to create or edit a video? PE News from Mrs. Hamilton
Dear Coyote Creek Families,
Our first ever online Field Day is just around the corner, MAY 8TH (or what date works best for your family). This is of course an optional activity, but I encourage you to join in and have some family fun while being active. We have a list of 23 fun-filled events your family may choose from to have a family competitive Field Day against one another. Have your students look over them and choose the events they are interested in and start preparing. Below are the links for event stations, video demonstrations of the events, equipment list and an event scorecard. I would love for families to send me pictures so I could put them in a video to share with the school. Please upload photos to my Google Classroom, Code j2mgtym, or send it to my email llhamilton@dcsdk12.org. You can also post them on our Coyote Creek Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/coyotecreekelem/?ref=py_c&eid=ARD0JSQFFfW_7puO0cMLwq5CNv-tV2dRbu_YlhjHH6bdjPUYE-BwSIhqNBTZ_YvOX0FrShU6M6QqIVfw.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me at my email listed above.
Thanks and I wish you all good health during these crazy times.

News from our School Counselor
A message to families and caregivers:
You may notice that your children are experiencing some pretty big ups and downs during this time. At one moment they are happy and playing and at the very next they are crying or screaming for what seems like no apparent reason. This can be very trying for us as parents- especially when our stresses/worries are also piled up and we are on edge. These BIG emotions and reactions are to be expected. Kids are processing what is going on at their own developmental level. This may lead to fear and worry which can come out as other emotions such as anger or sadness. As a parent, the best thing you can do during these times is to be a calming presence. Take deep breaths with them, take some quiet time together, give them a hug, say things like "It's okay to be upset- I'm here." Be that calm in your child's storm and teach them healthy coping mechanisms that will benefit them throughout their lives. And remember...you need to take care of yourselves as well, because, “You can’t pour from an empty cup” (Norm Kelly). © 2020 K12Counseling Resources All Rights Reserved
I continue to update my website with resources for students and families. This will soon include all of the lessons I have been posting for students on Google Classroom. Now you and your students will be able to access them anytime! And, as always, if you have questions or concerns for your student or yourself, feel free to contact me!

STEMShares
In recognition of the one year anniversary of the May 7th tragedy at STEM, the good folks at STEM have put together a really great virtual event. The support groups are intended for current and former students and the other events are open to the community.
STEMShares is our opportunity to bring our community together to give back and share what being #STEMStrong really means. Our community showed an amazing amount of support for STEM School Highlands Ranch in our time of need, and giving back to them the week of May 4-8 is a great way to honor the heroic actions of our students and staff. Click here for the information flyer.
