Thoughts On A Cold Winter's Day...
From The Principal's Desk...
Dear CMS Families:
We have completed a successful first week back from vacation. As you all can imagine, transitions back can take some time. However, I am very pleased to report that staff and students have responded extremely well, and they have hit the ground running. This is so important as we head toward the finish line for Term #2.
For planning purposes, Term #2 will officially end on Friday, January 22, 2021. Please make sure you are having conversations with your child(ren) about how they are doing with the overall learning. We get this platform is tough, and we want to help. Additionally, please reach out to teachers, guidance and/or administration if you need any support. We are all here to work together.
As a caregiver, you can access the Parent Portal as well. This will give you an idea of content achievement, as well as learning status for all classes. If you are having an issue accessing the Parent Portal, please contact Mrs. Kasierski at pkasierski@dcrsd.org or Mrs. Andre at landre@dcrsd.org

Wishing everyone a fantastic weekend and a great week ahead!
Yours in education,

Mandatory Flu Shot Information - Deadline Extended: February 28, 2021
‘The MDPH Immunization Division had set the deadline of December 31, 2020 for students to receive a flu vaccination unless they have obtained a medical or religious exemption. The deadline has been extended through February 28, 2021. Schools and school districts have authority to implement vaccination requirements at the local level, and may set policies appropriate for their communities regarding the deadlines for submitting documentation of vaccination. Schools and school districts should make every effort to ensure that families are connected to school nurses for resources for facilitating access to vaccination, if unable to receive through their primary care provider. Schools and school districts should send a reminder out to parents of this requirement as soon as possible.’
