Mrs. Dina's Kindergarten

Week of Dec. 1st - 5th

The Christmas Season

It's all about Christmas! This week we discussed why Christmas is really celebrated. We read many stories about the birth of Jesus. We celebrated the birth of Jesus by making a beautiful bulletin board which represents the true meaning of Christmas. We also discussed the symbolism of a candy cane. The candy cane incorporates several symbols for the birth, ministry, and death of Jesus Christ. The candy cane symbolizes J for Jesus or the shepherds's staff, white for the sinless nature of Jesus, , red for the blood of Jesus. Christmas is full of religious symbolism! We will continue to focus on Christmas, traditions, and symbolism for the next two weeks. This week, we also made Christmas trees and decorated our classroom with red and green chains to represent pur tricky teen numbers.
