Ms. Samek
Mrs. Sandlin
My name is Mrs. Sandlin! I am very excited to start my second year at LaRue Miller Elementary and my eighth year of teaching in special education. I have taught ELAR and Math in grades first through fifth.
I love spending time with my family and friends, watching my daughter play softball, and heading to the beach any chance I get. I look forward to working with the students I serve and helping them believe in their own abilities.

Mrs. Donahue
Hi! I am Brittany Donahue. I teach Dyslexia and ESL students (English as a Second Language). I attended Midlothian schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade then went on to graduate college from Texas A&M Commerce with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have been an educator here at Miller since 2008, first as a paraprofessional for 5 years and now in my 7th year of teaching. One of my passions is to provide students with unique tips, tricks, and tools to be successful in the classroom and in the real world! Another passion is serving my family at home. I have a patient husband and three busy kiddos. Their ages are 9 years, 4 years, and 11 months. I am blessed to be able to serve students here at Miller in Midlothian ISD!

Things to Know This Week
Coming Up at LME
Sock Hop
New?
Here's the scoop: Doors will open at 6:00. You may park in the staff parking lot, the back drive, or the overflow lot (attached to the staff parking lot). PTO sponsors this event, and there will be ice cream floats and concession stand sales. We will have a photo booth (for a charge) and a DJ for dancing fun!
Parents and Families—this year’s main fundraiser is the return of the Miller Glow Run in partnership with Boosterthon! It’s a two-week program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on Monday, September 30. Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps) at the Miller Glow Run, which will happen on Thursday, October 10 . This year our goal is to raise $25,000, and we need your help! We’ve asked the experts at Booster to power our fundraiser to make it easier, more profitable, and more fun.
Students will also experience an amazing character theme, MINDSPARK: WILD WEST! Booster’s most exciting theme yet combines S.T.E.A.M. skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with character-building. While they're teaming up with the MindSpark Kids to save Dr. Shock, our students will learn five character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world.
Donations will go toward painting for the gym, adding graphic art work to our hallways, resources for the classroom, our end of year student Luau, and student shirts. Last year, we were able to paint the cafeteria, purchase shirts for our learners, provide additional resources for teachers and students, and in partnership with our awesome PTO, add a new playground set with shade structure.
Please help our school by getting pledges from family and friends and entering them on FUNRUN.COM. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on our students at the Miller Glow Run during your child's specials class. Thanks so much for your support!
