Students are currently working on Building a Reading Life. We began the year by creating a culture within our classrooms that values reading. We have assessed each student to learn their independent and instructional reading levels in order to ensure they are reading a “just right book."
We have encouraged students to build their reading stamina and strengthen reading habits. Students use this attentiveness to form concrete goals for themselves. We value the importance of reading both in school and at home in a “just right spot” that works for the individual student.
