Inspiration of the Week: Endless Table
What happened?
- Reynolds turned their Instagram account into a endless dinner table, providing cooking tips to fans. Each Instagram links to another account that provides the recipe.
Why?
- This is Reynold's biggest campaign and they wanted to take advantage of Instagram's grid layout, to visually stitch together an endless table.
Opportunity for United
United can take advantage of the endless visual opportunities to connect with the aviation community on the platform and could consider using this method to unveil a new route destination or a new plane.

Facebook Messenger's M might be at our service
What happened?
- Facebook is testing out a new virtual assistant, called M, that will be able to perform tasks on your behalf such as making dinner reservations.
- It is currently in testing and will be only available on the FB messenger app.
Why?
- They believe this will be a powerful tool for helping Facebook users buy products they want more easily.
Opportunity for United
This new product will transform how people will consume and purchase products in the future – may even make purchasing airplane tickets even easier. This also seems to also be another strategy to continue keeping Facebook relevant.

Instagram is thinking outside of the "square"
What happened?
- Instagram is now supporting images and videos captured in landscape and portrait format.
- Additionally, they are continuing to expand ad offering to include action-oriented formats, enabling more targeting capabilities and overall making it easier for businesses to buy ads on the platform.
Why?
- They want to make it easier and simpler for users to tell their story in their own way
Opportunity for United
Use of Instagram may increase now that there’s more power to the users in controlling their stories and United can experiment with different visual formats. Additionally there are new opportunities now that there is some expansion in their advertising tools.
