Miller Career and Technology students and parents,


We are just days away from beginning the 2022 - 2023 school year in Katy ISD! Miller Career and Technology Center staff is looking forward to welcoming all our new and returning students. Please read below for important back-to-school information.

NEW - Accessing Your Class Schedule

Beginning today (Monday, August 15), students can view their 2022-2023 class schedules in two different places. Students and parents can log into HAC (Home Access Center) to view class schedules, including room numbers and teacher names. Additionally, students can log into MyKaty Cloud and select the Student Schedule tile. A concise, easy-to-read schedule will appear, including room numbers and teacher names.

NEW - When to Report to Miller

When viewing your schedule, look for the classes that list an "M" before the room number and shows Miller as the campus. Those are your Miller classes. These classes could be offered during 3 different time slots:


  • 1st, 2nd, & 3rd periods (1st AM Cohort)
  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th periods (2nd AM Cohort)
  • 5th, 6th, & 7th periods (PM Cohort)


If your Miller classes are listed for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd periods (1st AM Cohort), you will report to Miller right away in the morning. 1st period begins at 7:15 AM, so please make sure you have enough time to get into the building and to your class prior to 7:15. Your dismissal/departure time back to your home campus will be 9:38 AM.


If your Miller classes are listed for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th periods (2nd AM Cohort), you will also report to Miller right away in the morning. 1st period begins at 7:15 AM, so please make sure you have enough time to get into the building and to your class prior to 7:15. Your dismissal/departure time back to your home campus will be 10:27 AM.


If your Miller classes are listed for 5th, 6th, & 7th periods (PM Cohort), you will leave from your home campus and report to Miller during/after your lunch period. 5th period begins at 12:17 PM at Miller, so please make sure you arrive in time to get into the building and to your class prior to 12:17. Your dismissal/departure time for the end of the school day will be 2:40 PM.

Transportation Information - How to Get to and from Miller

Students have 3 options to travel to and from Miller Career and Technology Center:


  1. Students may take District-provided bus transportation (Specific route information below.)
  2. Students may drive themselves to and from Miller (See Parking Permit Information below.)
  3. Students may be dropped off and picked up (see locations below).

NEW - District Bus Transportation - Before School & After School

District bus transportation to and from Miller is provided. To find your bus pick-up/drop-off location, please click on the link to access the District-wide Bus Map. You will type your home address in the "Search by Residential Address" box in the top right corner of the map and search. Your home will appear on the map. Zoom out using the + and - buttons on the top left of the map to find the nearest bus pick-up/drop-off point. Click on the dot. It will show you the bus name, the pick-up/drop-off crossroads, and the pick-up time from this location.


Please note: These routes are for AM pick-up (bring you to Miller for 1st period) or PM drop-off (take you to neighborhood drop-off from Miller after 7th period) only. Separate shuttle buses run from Miller back to home campuses after 3rd period and 4th period and from home campuses to Miller 5th period.


If students need to return to their home campuses for after school activities, the following buses return to campuses/near campuses:

  • Bus W5058/Orange Triangle - Paetow
  • Bus S5290/Purple Dot - Katy and Jordan
  • Bus E5101/Blue Dot - Mayde Creek
  • Bus E5097/Green Dot - Taylor
  • Bus E5096/Red Dot - Morton Ranch
  • Bus S5236/Hot Pink Triangle - Seven Lakes and Tompkins
  • Bus S5139/Purple Triangle - Cinco Ranch

NEW - District Bus Transportation - Middle of the Day

For our 1st AM Cohort students who ride the bus to Miller (1st - 3rd periods at Miller)

After 3rd period dismissal (9:38 AM), students will exit the building on the Rhodes Stadium side and board a bus to head back to home campus.


For our 2nd AM Cohort students who ride the bus to Miller (1st - 4th periods at Miller)

After 4th period dismissal (10:27 AM), students will exit the building on the Rhodes Stadium side and board a bus to head back to home campus.


For our PM Cohort students who ride the bus to Miller (5th - 7th periods at Miller)

Buses will pick you up at the Main Entrance of your school to bring you to Miller, except Morton Ranch. Morton Ranch pick-up is the bus area at the back of campus near the Cafeteria. Please be at the designated spot and ready to board the bus at the times listed below.


Estimated pick-up times are:

11:53 AM - Jordan, Mayde Creek, Seven Lakes, and Tompkins


11:55 AM - Cinco Ranch, Morton Ranch, Paetow, and, Taylor


12:00 PM - Katy

MCTC Parking Permit Purchase for Student Drivers

Students who wish to drive to and from Miller are required to have a MCTC Parking Permit displayed in the vehicle and will park in the Rhodes Stadium Lot on the south side. The MCTC Parking Permit request process is open now.


To obtain a Parking Permit please have the following ready-to-go:

  • A photo of your driver’s license ready for upload.
  • A photo or PDF of your vehicle insurance ready for upload.
  • Submit the $10.00 permit fee through Pay N’Go.
  • Complete the MCTC Parking Permit request or use QR Code
  • The Confirmation Number received through Pay N’Go is required on the Google form

Student Parking Permit Pick-up

Students who have already paid the $10.00 parking permit fee through Pay N’ Go and have completed the Google form will be able to pick up their parking permits from the MCTC Front Office reception desk on the following dates and times:

  • Monday, August 15th from 1:00 -3:00 PM


Students who are unable to pick up their parking permits on these days will be able to pick them up the first week of school while at Miller.

Student Drop-off and Pick-up

Student Drop-off in the morning (before 1st period) and mid-day (before 5th period) is located in the front drive of Miller. Please do not wait to pull all the way up to the front door to exit your vehicle. Once in the front drive circle, please exit your vehicle, so traffic can continue to flow.


Student Pick-up in the morning (after 3rd period or after 4th period) and at the end of the day (after 7th period) is located behind MCTC (on the south side). Enter the pick-up line through the Shaw Center parking lot and line up. There is no pick-up in front of the school. It is unsafe to pick-up students in the street. Please follow the traffic pattern procedures as detailed in the MCTC Traffic Patterns Map below (teal arrows = Pick-up). Staff members will be out to direct you.

NEW - Mandatory Wearing of IDs

Secondary students must wear their ID badges at all times during school hours, while on school property. If a student loses the ID, a replacement must be purchased promptly from the Upstairs AP Office. Failure to follow these procedures may be considered a violation of the Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct. For more information regarding student ID badges, please review the Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct (Identification (ID) Badges (p. 22).

The 2022-2023 Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct can be found here. Significant changes include moving information from the Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct to the Student Handbook. Electronic acknowledgment of both handbooks are included with Annual Student Update.

NEW - SkillsUSA Interest Meeting

Miller’s SkillsUSA chapters are growing! We are very proud of the great strides we took last year including the many experiences and awards our students earned. We also have two students serving as district officers for District 8 (all of Harris County) Returning officers have already met and will be meeting again on Thursday, August 18th at 3:15 PM to plan our first meeting. Those interested in helping lead the year's activities should talk to their CTE teacher on how to get involved. The first regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 31st at 3:15 PM in the Commons. Morning and Afternoon students are encouraged to come learn what SkillsUSA is all about. ALL students enrolled at Miller are eligible to join a chapter, most chapters have curriculum specific contests available to compete in at district and potentially advance to State, Nationals, and even World competition!
