Hello Jackson Families,

The Jackson PTA is sponsoring a Field Trip Fundraising campaign to raise money for grade level field trips. Our goal is to raise $6,000 through cash or check donations by March 2nd. Please see flyer below for more details. TOGETHER WE CAN DO THIS!

Mrs. Walker, our awesome librarian, has some volunteer opportunities for "Read Across America Day," on March 2. To make the day a success, we need a minimum of 30 volunteer readers to read in Jackson classrooms. Click for flyer and volunteer form.

A big THANK YOU from Coach McMillan to all the volunteers who contacted him about Field Day. You will be receiving an e-mail soon from Coach McMillan with details about a Field Day meeting.

Parents, please take a moment to read the information below about the Student Safety Survey that all 5th grade students at jackson will be asked to take between February 17 and March 4.

Student Safety Survey

As part of a District-wide school safety audit being conducted by District Safety and Security Services, all students in the 5th grade and above will be asked to take a student safety survey at school. The survey will be taken electronically during the school day, and will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete. The survey is anonymous and your child will not be identified in any survey results. The information being gathered in the survey is important in fulfilling the District’s goal of providing a safe and secure environment in which our students learn.

To review the survey questions, please click this link. Please note that the actual survey will be taken at school.

Students will begin taking the survey on Wednesday, February 17th. If you do not want your child to participate in the survey, please notify Jackson's Office Manager, Cathy Jones, at cathy.jones@pisd.edu no later than Tuesday, February 16th. If you have questions about the survey itself, please contact District Safety and Security Services at 469-752-8057.
