The CIA's main purpose is to keep the US safe from terrorists and attacks.
Mission
- Prevent threats and further US national security objectives by collecting intelligence that matters, producing objective all-source analysis, conducting effective covert action as directed by the President, and safeguarding the secrets that help keep our Nation safe.
Head of Department
John Brennan's job is to manage the operations, personnel and budget of the CIA and acts as the National Human Source Intelligence (HUMINT) Manager.

Budget
The government has disclosed a total figure for all non-military intelligence spending since 2007; the fiscal 2013 figure is $52.6 billion.
Current Issues
- They threaten US interests, values and citizens in the United States and abroad.
- Threats that do not respect national borders and which often arise from non-state actors, such as terrorists and criminal organizations.
