JANUARY 2014
Happy New Year and welcome to the January edition of The VIP News. As we kick-off the year 2014, the Alberta real estate market is expected to see more growth. The year 2013 saw a 11% sales jump compared to 2012; and according to the CREB, it is due to increasing net migration, improving job outlook and confidence in long-term economic prospects. Going forward, Alberta will still be an excellent real estate market to invest in.

Canada Place: Preferred Venue For Year-End Parties
Canada Place was the preferred venue for many year-end parties, organized to close out 2013 and ring in 2014. The Malaysia Canada Business Council held its annual Christmas cocktail party at Canada Place on December 10th, 2013, a celebration that was well-attended by employees of Canadian companies in Kuala Lumpur, such as Scotiabank, as well as spouses and friends. A formal dinner was also held with the High Commissioner of Canada to Malaysia, Her Excellency Judith St. George, who paid her first visit to Canada Place, and the management staff of many Canadian companies in Kuala Lumpur, including Blackberry, Talisman Energy, and SNC Lavalin.
Canada Place was also the chosen site for several annual general meetings of Canadian companies in Kuala Lumpur, including Bombardier’s Bollywood-themed extravaganza. In addition, Al Rajhi Bank selected Canada Place to mark its annual festivities.

If you are in the Kuala Lumpur area, come and find out why Canada is an increasingly attractive choice for study, work, leisure, and business opportunities. This event is scheduled to be held at Canada Place on February 22. Guests will gain insights on why Canada is one of the best places to live and invest.
Project News
Chestermere Manor
Chestermere continues to have great demand for rental accommodation. Building 32 is now completed, and we are actively placing tenants in the suites. With the recent polar vortex freeze, we hope that the new system we have in place to keep pathways and parking accessible for all will continue to prove effective.
Best View Manor
Best View Manor continues to undergo minor improvements to enhance safety and security. The Annual General Meeting of the Condo Board will be held soon, and all owners will be notified when the date is set.
Meadowland
Our advertising to attract new tenants for Meadowland has received a great response. We are filling some of the previous vacancies with rental rates at or above the marketplace average. Most of all, we continue to experience high occupancy with high demand.
