News From The View
Skyview Upper Elementary School
From Mrs. Berical
In partnering with our Home and School, I am excited to share with you that next Friday, February 10th, Skyview will celebrate our Philadelphia Eagles with a Super Bowl Pep Rally in the Arcola Auditorium! At this event, our newly elected student council representatives will be introduced. These students will then present ten Eagles players who have served as a positive presence not only on the team but also in the community. We will discuss how their positive character traits have helped bring the team to the Super Bowl. We will discuss what character traits we can show at Skyview that will help us continue to grow as a positive school community. Don't forget to ask your child what players were highlighted at the pep rally and what facts they have learned about those players.
I encourage our students to wear Eagles spirit wear OR the colors green and white!
Please note that there is no school for students from February 17th-February 21st. February 21st is reserved for parent/teacher conferences. If your child's teacher would like to hold a conference, they will reach out to you to schedule a time for February 21st. As always, you are welcome to request a conference with your child's teacher if you feel one is needed.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Berical

Band and Orchestra Families
Dear Families of Band & Orchestra,
As part of the music department, specific expectations have been set for the students so that when they come together as a full band they are able to bring their best self and be a contributing member to the band and or orchestra. This means that students are expected to practice each week and be responsible for their instrument at home and at school. Students who are not practicing at home are negatively impacting the ability to for the full band and orchestra to perform to their full capacity. You can help your child by setting a specific time for them to practice each week along with a timer that they can set for a specific amount of time.
Students should practice at a minimum of three times a week for at least 15 minutes.
I greatly appreciate your help in encouraging your child to practice their instrument!
