PRAIRIE POST
January 19, 2018
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians of the PAWSOME PUMAS,
First and foremost, I can not thank you enough for entrusting us with your children each and every day at Prairie. Our goal is to ensure that your son/daughter does not just grow academically but socially and emotionally as well. When we look at the entire child, we are able to create environments that will grow our community and facilitate positive change in our world.
Weather: Thank you for making sure that your children are dressed appropriately for the weather. In the event that we have indoor recess, we have revised a plan to ensure that our scholars are active and engaged. We have had the opportunity to exercise this plan, and it has been successful with our scholars utilizing the MakerSpace and the Library. I want to thank the Educational Assistants and our school library aide for their collaborative efforts.
Puma Time: This week we began to revamp our intervention time at Prairie, and it is called Puma Time. This allows us to provide additional academic supports for some of our scholars. The educators collectively decided to share some of their passion with the scholars in the building such as coding, learning about chess, and photography. Each course is driven by learning. Scholars had the opportunity to select their top four choices. The scholars will rotate to a new course after next week. The educators and scholars are enjoying the opportunity to collaborate with other scholars from different grade levels and educators. I can truly tell you this experience is enhancing the culture of Prairie.
NO SCHOOL: Please remember that we will not have school on Monday and Tuesday of next week. The educators in the Waukesha School District will be coming together to learn together at the Waukesha One Conference.
Have a great weekend, stay warm, and we will see you on Wednesday.
