Friday Afternoon - 2 Emergencies
Emergency Rooms are not our favorite places, but we sure do appreciate having such good medical facilities nearby when we need them. Two students went to two different ER facilities on Friday afternoon!
One Broken Leg
Watch kids playing football. No tackling!
One Asthma Attack
It's that time of year when there are lots of triggers. Know your students who have asthma, and watch them closely, especially during and after time outside when students are playing and exercising.
COMING YOUR WAY to COMBAT GERMS!!!
Grade Level Chairs, I have placed your team's 2-liter bottles of hand sanitizer in your rooms. Please distribute them to team members. Let's encourage children to wash well with soap when they can, but use the sanitzer too.
Kudos to JMQ Staff!
Thank you, Nurse Tutt! Our nurse was all over the place as she responded quickly and efficiently to student emergencies. We so appreciate her expertise, prudent action, and gentle manner.
Krystal Felder you are a rock star! You were very observant when you noticed your student breathing hard as he waited for his bus. Thank you for your quick response.
Jennifer Vaughn, you were an angel that suddenly and miraculously appeared to help treat and respond to a child in need while Nurse Tutt was on her way back to the school. Your background knowledge about asthma was a godsend.
I am sure there were others of you who helped. Know that I am grateful to the professional and caring staff at JMQ!
PLC Meetings on Wednesday
We will target weak TEKS and discuss appropriate interventions in the Data Room!
Small Group Learning
Debbie Diller: Math Work Stations
I included this clip not to promote Debbie Diller's books, but to introduce her to you if you do not know of her. Go to YouTube, and search for Debbie Diller. You will find some really good video clips of small group lessons.
Via Stacey Grant - A Site Teachers Will Love!
Enjoy using free materials in your small group work stations. They come from the site below. Stacey says to choose carefully because this site is based on Common Core. There are many good activities, though. Look through the site for activities that correlate to your TEKS. Click the domain tabs at the top for pull-down menus. Go to the Gallery to see student work!
