THE PATRIOT POST
Newsletter for PHES Students and Families
It's Enrollment Time!
Hey PHES Families, it's that time of year (believe it or not) when we start planning for the coming school year. Please review the following information carefully:
For students who will be NEW in the 2023-24 school year:
The link for Providence Hall's 23-24 Lottery Application will be on the Enrollment page of our website Thursday 12/15/22 for student's not already enrolled at Providence Hall who want to join our awesome school in 2023-24.
For students ALREADY ENROLLED in Providence Hall:
Do not fill out the 23-24 Lottery Application, because their enrollment automatically rolls over to 23-24 even if moving up to the next school (like moving up from the Elementary to the Junior High, or moving up from the Junior High to the High School).
An Enrollment Intent Form (Google Form) will be emailed 1/4/23 where you let us know if your student will be continuing their enrollment at Providence Hall for 23-24 (next school year) or if your student will be leaving Providence Hall (withdrawing) at the end of this school year.
If you have any questions about enrollment you can always contact the appropriate school Registrar.
Elementary – Kathy Davis (kdavis@providencehall.com)
Junior High – Kristin Adams (kadams@providencehall.com)
High School – Julie Hansen (jhansen@providencehall.com)Updated Recess Policy
We want to clarify how we will henceforth determine under what circumstances students go outside for recess, and when they will stay inside. Please refer to the following chart.
This policy was made after careful consideration of a number of factors, most importantly, the need we see for students to be outside as often as is reasonable. Students perform and behave better when they have the opportunity to expend physical energy and rest their little minds.
Service Opportunity: Patriot Packages
We will be sending home our first "Patriot Package" before Christmas break. We hope to make this a regular occurrence to help our school community.
For those who are interested in donating towards these efforts, you can do so here. Thank you!

What's for Lunch?
Hello Parents,
Here is your Social Skills Scoop into what happened this past week!
1st Grade - Students learned how to be responsible and manage distractions so that we can focus on what we need to accomplish.
2nd Grade - Students continued to learn and practice being a responsible classmate as we practiced how we can be responsible communicators with one another.
Attached below are the Respect and Responsibility songs. My first and second graders love these songs and asked me to send them home to you so that they can listen to them outside of school.
3rd Grade - Students learned about TOP Goals and how setting responsible goals helps us to better achieve what we want.
4th Grade - Students learned about how organization, responsibility, and time management connect. We discussed how time is a gift and a tool and we reflected on how we currently spend our time and how we can better use time as a gift and tool.
5th Grade - Students reviewed what TOP Goals are and then spent time writing their own TOP Goals. We also discussed time management and evaluated how we currently spend our time and how we could make improvements so that we can accomplish the goals we have set for ourselves.
