This review is about The Giver by Lois Lowry. The general genre of this book is Young-adult fiction and Utopian and dystopian fiction. Distopian fiction happens to be one of my favorite genres. The author of this book did a wonderful job of keeping me on the edge of my seat and making it action packed. In general, the author did a poor job of grabbing my attentionin the beginning of the book, and they could have done a better job of explaining the story. I was confused as to why they had created such a strict community in the book, it makes me thankful that I live in a free country. Overall, I would recommend the book to anyone else who is interested in dystopian novels such as The Hunger Games or Maze Runner.
