SLOW DOWN Around the School!

For the safety of all students please remember the following:

· The speed limit on ALL streets surrounding the school is 25 mph. We have a lot of students that walk to and from school. It is unsafe for them if you are speeding down the side streets.

· When exiting the school parking lot, it is LEFT TURN ONLY. Again, this is for the safety of all our students.

· When you see walkers/bikers, please SLOW DOWN and be courteous.

Community Forums

Northville Public Schools Board of Education is hosting two community forums to share information about the bond proposal which will be on the November 7th ballot. Winchester parents are invited to Meads Mill Middle School on Tuesday, October 3rd to learn more about the upcoming bond. Because Winchester children attend Meads Mill, you might be interested in a Meads Mill tour! Interested parents may join us for the tour at 6:00 PM. The bond informational program will begin at 6:30 PM. Please see the attachment for more information. We hope to see you there!

Winchester Directory

The PTA School Directory is in process. If you haven't turned in the bright yellow form with your information by Monday 9/25, we will publish the information the office has on file. Media Center Volunteers Needed

Do you think you might enjoy working in the Media Center? If so, please consider volunteering this year. Volunteers are an integral part of a successful program.

Volunteers are needed Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. Times are flexible and I ask that you volunteer a minimum of one hour when you come in.

Please see the attached documents for more information on volunteering.

National Walk/Ride Your Bike to School Day

Winchester is participating in National Walk and Ride your Bike to School Day. This event takes place on Wednesday, October 4. Ms. Haite, Mr. Dicken and Mrs. Lindsay will be outside in the morning to greet students who are walking or riding their bikes. Students who participate will receive a special Winchester Winner slip. Students will write their name on this special Winchester Winner and turn it into the school office. 10 students will selected from all the slips turned in to earn free play time in the gymnasium during lunch/recess one day! Did you know walking to school improves your overall health by increasing your physical activity, but it is also a great way to reduce greenhouse gases that pollute our environment. We hope you will join this great celebration of health and wellbeing.
