CFES Travel Plan for Parents

Destination Excellence

Week of November 16th

Happy Tuesday to all of our Cougar Families. As we prepare for the Thanksgiving Holiday next week, I would like to express my gratitude for each and every Creekside Forest Family. I am so grateful for our school community and your unwavering support. Being able to spend my days with your children is one of my biggest blessings. I hope you all find time to connect with friends or family next week. The past year has certainly taught us to slow down and cherish the moments we are blessed to be part of.

Have a great week off and Happy Thanksgiving to all of our CFES Families!

It is time for the CFES Annual Spelling Bee. For those students in Grades 3-5 who are interested in participating, please be on the lookout for the permission form going home on Wednesday, November 17th. Any student who is interested in participating must returned the permission form to their classroom teacher by November 19th to receive the grade level spelling bee words to help them prepare for their grade level bee. The winners of the grade level bees will move on to participate in the campus bee in January.

We are so excited to allow guests to have lunch with their child! Below are reminders of our procedures for lunch visitors.

  • You and your child should remain at the guest table or outdoor picnic area at all times
  • Students may only be at the guest table with their parent/family member (for safety reasons, friends are not allowed to join you)
  • Family members are only allowed to take photos of their child for safety reasons
  • The guidelines for birthday treats remain the same ( must be purchased and individually packaged or you may pre order (two weeks in advance) ice cream from the CFES cafeteria). Please communicate with your child's teacher if you have ordered treats from the cafeteria.

CFES Guidelines for bringing in or sending birthday treats for your child

  • Parents should notify the homeroom teacher at least 24 hours in advance that they will be sending or bringing birthday treats for their child (this includes if you have purchased ice cream from the CFES cafeteria in advance).

  • All treats must be individually wrapped, commercially prepared and store purchased (reminder that student goodie bags are not allowed to be distributed for birthdays or holidays, etc.).

  • All treats will be distributed by CFES staff during lunchtime.

  • If parents would like to purchase ice cream from the CFES cafeteria as their child’s birthday treat, they must notify the CFES cafeteria manager, Mrs. Marcia, at, as well as the student’s homeroom teacher, two weeks in advance so the order may be placed.

  • Parents may send in the treats with their child in the morning or bring the treats with them if they are coming for lunch. If treats are being brought in by a parent at lunch time, the parent should plan to arrive at the beginning of his/her child’s lunch period. Although you have already notified your child’s teacher, please notify Mrs. Dagg (CFES staff member in the cafeteria) when you arrive in the cafeteria.

  • Birthday treats may only be distributed to the students in your child’s homeroom class.

  • Please remember that even on birthdays, only your child may join you at the guest table for lunch.
