The Overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom on January 17,1893 would have not been possible without the role President McKinely, President Cleveland and Minisiter John L. Stevens.

Historical Significance

Hawaii wouldn't be the same if it wasn't for president William McKinley, president Grover Cleveland, and minister John Stevens. This topic is important because it should let Hawaiians know that they are still strong and they should remember there roots. Never forget about their culture and always be proud of what race you are.

Is Hawai'i legally and lawfully a state of the union?

The truth is that each and every step along Hawaii's path from sovereign and independent nation, to annexed territory, to state, was done in violation of laws and treaties then in effect, without regard to the wishes of the Hawaiian people. Many people, including President Grover Cleveland, opposed the annexation of Hawaii.

This is queen Liliuokalani's palace were the marines and sailors went to take her down because presidents wanted to take over Hawaii.
