Heelys at School: Please help us!
Please help us to maintain a safe (and sane) learning environment at school by leaving the Heely shoes at home. When students come to school in Heelys (sneakers with a roller skate feature in the soles of the shoes), students can't help but skate in places they should not. Even if a child pinky-promises he or she will not engage the roller skate aspect of the shoes, it's very tempting.
We would request that students save their Heelys for weekends and vacations and wear regular shoes for learning at Hillside. Thank you so much for your assistance.

Health Information and Reminders
Dear Hillside Parents and Guardians,
Students’ health and safety is our priority. Thank you for all you are doing with the before-school screenings and keeping your child healthy. The data from the screening app really helps us!
In this challenging time, please continue to encourage kids to eat healthy, get adequate sleep, and get plenty of outdoor play/exercise. These lifestyle choices strengthen the immune system and also teach children to become healthy adults. Self-care and mental health are things we frequently overlook, remember to take time for yourself and continue to educate your children on the present issues.
Please continue to teach and model and remind children to use the 3 W’s Wait (social distancing), Washing hands and Wearing a mask.
If your child has asthma, a severe allergy, diabetes, a seizure disorder, or any other health condition, please send a Doctor’s Emergency Action Plan to the school along with needed medications and orders (please see our Health Room Assistant, Mrs. Ecklebe, for one if you need it). Thanks to everyone who sent updated vaccinations and health physicals.
We are currently working on screening for vision, hearing, height and weight. We will reschedule the dental checks for later in the year.
If you have any questions about any of this information, please reach out to me.
