Instruction & Technology Updates
Adobe Spark Free for Educators!
Great news! Adobe has made its digital storytelling tool, Spark, free for schools! The free edition includes premium features that previously ran $120 per year for a subscription. The web-based tool, which runs on desktop and mobile browsers, is designed to let students "quickly and easily express themselves via graphics, web stories and video to complete their school assignments and showcase digital creativity." The education edition includes templates, themes and lessons. Check out the video below to learn more about this tool. If you are interested in using this tool, please let me know and I can assist you with setting up an account or learning how to use it.
ASPIRE Testing
This Thursday will be our spring testing day for freshmen and sophomores. Our ASPIRE results are very important in aiding us to make data driven decisions and for this reason it is important that we stress to students to take the test seriously and do their best.
For Thursday, please review the ASPIRE Testing Assignments spreadsheet to see where you are assigned for Thursday. The first assistant listed will be in the testing room in the morning, and the second one will be in the room after lunch in the afternoon. If needed, teachers may take turns taking breaks during the course of the assessment since most rooms have three teachers assigned to the room. If you have any questions about the proctoring of the test, please see Ann Marie Schneider and if you have any questions about your assignment, please contact me. Students will be released at 2:15 and at that point, faculty are free to go.
