Proctor Staff
Week at a Glance! 9/8 - 9/13
Here is this Week's Schedule!
Lots of Goal setting meetings this week. If you have not set up a time with me, please do so. Also, please send me your goals to review which are due to me by this Friday, per CVTA
contract. Thanks!
Remember to give out those Proctor Pride Points!! Students are so excited when they receive this, even the upper grade students (new prizes have been purchased to spark their interest). We must be consistent as a staff with implementing our PBIS program. This month's Character trait is Respect, so make sure to look for those kiddos that are displaying this prideful trait. Please make sure to choose more than 2 students a month. By the end of the year, ALL students should have received a Character Trait award.
8:30 - Morning Announcements/Pledge (Please send a Proctor Patriot to help with this!)
1:00 - 2:00ish - Superintendent Ahmadi will be on campus to visit students and classrooms
Tuesday 9/10:
Measure G update meeting with Admin (I will be getting an update on all Projects during this monthly meeting and forward this info to you and the community)
2:55 - 4:15 - Collaboration Tuesday
Wednesday 9/11: Patriots' Day! Honor our First Responders
9:00 - 11:00 - CVUSD Board Trustee, Gary Howard will be on site to visit with students and walk through classrooms.
Thursday 9/12: Almost there!
Friday 9/13: And a Full Moon!
8:15 - 8:45 - School Wide Flag/Award Assembly - Lower Playground (Practice with your class on where to line up and sit as a grade level!)
- Here is the link to Character Awards Spreadsheet
Make sure to submit your names of your students, and notify parents that their child will be receiving a Character Trait award (Responsibility) This month's assembly snuck upon us since we have the walkathon next week, and no school the last Friday.
Coffee Talk with the Principal - Art Center after the assembly
2:00 - 3:00 - Eureka Math Webinar!
I will set up this Webinar in the Staff Room, unless someone would like to volunteer their classroom. I would use the Science Room, but I believe we have after school clubs in their. I will confirm the location on Thursday.
Teaching Tolerance and Building Equity in your Classroom and Beyond!
This is a great resource to refer to for teaching and your own professional growth. We will be touching on the topic of Equity and Tolerance throughout the school year, so I wanted you to have this resource accessible to you as we begin the year.
September is Attendance Awareness Month, And Hispanic Heritage Month!
I will provide the class with a popcorn party, and 10 minutes of extra recess with the best attendance for the month of September. Students with perfect attendance who are on time, will also receive an attendance award during the October Flag/Awards assembly 10/4.
Thoughts for the Week.....
Now that we are past the "Honeymoon Stage" in our classrooms, it's easy to begin getting frustrated with the personalities and behavior of some of our students. Let's be mindful about how we express these frustrations to each other as it can be toxic for our school culture and detrimental to students.
Attached is an article that I recently read that caused me to really reflect on this topic.
