A Message From The Principal
Dear LPS Families,
We had a great first week back from break at LPS. It was awesome to see parents back in the building eating lunch and/or providing additional support and skills practice with our Tigers. We appreciate you!
Speaking of support, I want to take this opportunity to thank our families for the ongoing participation in our Dine to Donate program. We've collectively raised over $3000 this school year through partnerships with our local restaurants. This money directly benefits LPS and our students through the purchase of materials, student incentives/recognitions, and supplies.
Just a couple of important reminders for parents who are volunteering and/or visiting the building:
- Parking is always difficult on the LPS/LES campus. Therefore, we ask visitors to park across the street at Shoppers Haven when a spot out front is unavailable. Visitors should avoid the courtyard drive between the two gyms.
- Visitors should bring a photo ID (driver's license) with you for signing in through our Raptor System.
- If you are eating lunch with your child, please note: food cannot be shared with other students due to food allergies and safety concerns for our age group of students (see our Loveland Food Policy at www.lovelandschools.org for additional details).
- In order to protect the privacy rights of our students, visitors should avoid taking photos and/or publishing pictures of other students to social media - especially posting pictures on social media with identifying information such as a child's name.
- Parents/guests may accompany their child on the playground for outside recess, but are not permitted to be with the class during inside recess. Visitors can help us protect our valuable instructional time by departing from the cafeteria/playground and not from the classroom. Our Tigers transition back to the academic block more successfully when parents do not follow the class to the room following lunch/recess.
As always, thanks for partnering with us to help all of our Tigers learn and grow.
Sincerely,
Kevin Fancher

2nd Grade CogAT Testing Results
All second grade students participated in the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) at the end of February. The results are posted in your TigerParent.me portal. The CogAT is an instrument approved by the State of Ohio to identify students as gifted in the area of superior cognitive ability. A Composite (VQN) Standard Age Score (SAS) of 128 or above is needed for a child to be identified as gifted in the area of superior cognitive ability on this assessment. You will be notified if your child has qualified for retesting.
If your student qualifies for gifted services, he/she will be served within the regular classroom in third grade by a teacher who receives ongoing gifted professional development.
Please contact Darcie Chandler (School Counselor) with any questions or concerns. She can be reached at chandlda@lovelandschools.org.

If you are currently serving in any branch of the service (active duty, reserves or National Guard), please complete this brief form so that we can recognize your student(s) that day - Loveland Purple Up!
