November 2015
Principal's Message
November is always a time when I am able to be thankful for so many good things. Friday we had the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of many of our students at our student awards assemblies. I am so proud of the hard work that our students continuously put forth, and I know they will continue to achieve great things. I am thankful for the supportive community of parents and teachers that touch the lives of our students every day. Please take a moment to look over the PTO section to see the amazing ways that our PTO supports our campus. They have included a snapshot of where PTO dollars have been used, and they have shared how you can be an active part of our school community. The new fence cup design along Skinner Road makes quite a statement of the spirit that our school community has for Robison. Thank you to the Porter and Vega families for installing the cups, and thank you to PTO for purchasing this awesome addition to our school grounds. We have a very busy time ahead of us with the holidays approaching. We will see many veterans on November 11, and this is such a special day for everyone at Robison. This occasion serves as a great reminder for how thankful we are for our veterans. We also have some great opportunties for our families to come together. On Monday, November 9, all families are invited to participate in Family Math Night (6-7 pm). Wednesday, November 11, is a great night to come out to Robison Spirit Night at Spring Creek Barbeque. We are also so fortunate that we have one full week for the Thanksgiving holiday. I hope this November finds you all as thankful as I am.

PBIS
Each month at Robison we hold class meetings to discuss BLAST behavior. In October, the classes discussed how to show their BLAST behavior in the hallway and this month we will be focusing how to show our BLAST behavior in the restrooms. These discussions will include things like “leave no trace”, getting “in and out” and using “quiet voices” while we are inside the restroom.
We hope you noticed our “Pumpkin Patch” in the front hallway in October! It was created to acknowledge all of the students who went above and beyond showing their BLAST behavior. Be on the look-out this month for an autumn tree display with colorful leaves acknowledging the students who are being Respectful, Leaders, Accountable, Safe, and Team players!
Student Council News
Parents and Students,

MAIL CALL
Our 3rd grade students are once again awaiting the arrival of mail from the USS Donald Cook. The third graders wrote letters to the sailors aboard this ship. The sailors are enjoying each and every letter and are responding to each student. Getting mail while out to sea is a real treat. The ship is currently serving in the Mediterranean Sea.
The top picture below:
Commander Hampton, Captain of the USS Donald Cook, and a few crew members are proudly posing in his office with their letters from Robison 3rd graders.
The bottom picture below:
The students were very excited to see their letters “zip lining” from the oil tanker to the USS Donald Cook. The letters will be sent back across the wire to another oil tanker on Oct. 23rd as they start their journey to Houston.

EXCITING PLAYGROUND NEWS FROM THE PTO!
Thanks to a lot of hard work from fundraising and budgeting over the past few years, there will be an exciting development coming soon to our playground! A new structure will be built close to the Northeast corner of the hardtop that will provide an additional source of fun for all grades. It will even be shaded! This will be a welcome addition for providing protection from the sun. There will even be a sidewalk and ramp to make it fully accessible. We will update you as progress proceeds. Thanks for all your help and generosity supporting the Robison PTO! We could not provide the yearly activities that the kids enjoy and extra allocations for special projects like this without your generous support of the fundraisers!
