National Water Crisis

Haiti´s Economic and Enviromental Struggle

In Haiti the population is 10.32 million.

  • Poverty, 80% of the haitians are poor. The poverty situation Haiti has been deteriorating over the past decade.
  • Education, 50% of primary school age children are not enrolled in school.
  • Country, the median age in Haiti is 20.2 years.

Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. It is also the third hungriest country in the world after Somalia and Afghanistan. 78% of Haitians live on less than $2 per day. The richest 1% of the population controls nearly half of all Haiti´s wealth.

Our government could raise awareness about haiti's money problem and start a non profit organization helping the people get clean water and find jobs. So they can provide for themselves and become a working economy. That way it could also benefit the US because we wouldn't have to be spending billions of dollars every year to help clean up haiti.
