A Note from the Principal
February 3 is quickly approaching, and we ask that K-8 families complete registration/enrollment as soon as possible. If your family is not planning to return, please make the school office aware of your decision. It is imperative that we have enrollment numbers so that we can plan accordingly for staffing for next school year. Congratulations to the Thomas (Daniel and Felcia) family who were the lucky winners of $100 in Schoolbelles gift certificates! Thank you to the many families who have submitted their registrations already.
If you are interested in preschool for your child, PLEASE SUBMIT REGISTRATION TODAY. Space in certain classes is very limited, and we are pleased to announce that two classes are near capacity with only 1-2 spots available. We want to make sure you do not get closed out of the class that you prefer. Remember, your registration is not considered complete until the registration fee is received. Tonight our Preschool Open House will be held, and we will open registration to outside families. We currently have 50+ families signed up to attend the event so we expect that some classes will be filled this evening.
Finally, Sunday kicks off Catholic Schools Week 2023! Join us for Mass on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. followed by our Open House from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We are excited to have the Athletic Association Pancake Breakfast back again this year so kick off your Sunday morning with a delicious stack of pancakes. If you know of someone looking for a quality Catholic education and a welcoming community, please invite them to our Open House. Be sure to review the Catholic Schools Week calendar to keep up with each day's events.
Peace and blessings,

Magic Gives Back: Rick Smith Magic Show
We are 15 days away from the Magic Gives Back fundraising event, where we have sold over 300 tickets and received over $2,100 in donations thanks to the 373 emails sent. Currently, each email is averaging a donation of $2.50 on top of our profits from ticket sales. When broken down, it doesn’t seem like much, however, these numbers were raised with only 42 students registered and participating. Imagine what we can do if everyone participates!!!!!!
Please visit the Magic Gives Back STUDENT REGISTRATION PAGE to register your child to send emails....anywhere in the world! We encourage our recipients to join us for an amazing performance or donate as little as $1 to our fundraiser. Parents, share your child's fundraising on social media pages to generate additional sales. Our goal is to see at least 1,000 emails sent this week! Don’t forget, the more emails you send, the more prizes your child can win!
Speaking of Prizes… Let’s sweeten the pot!!! Every time you share your child’s personal fundraising profile OR post the following picture to any social media account WITH the hashtag #MagicGivesBack2023, you will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Amazon Gift Card!

MAP Testing Dates-January 17 - February 3
At home, you can help to prepare your child by ensuring that he/she gets plenty of sleep each night and eats a nutritious breakfast each morning. Encourage your child to do his or her best on each test. The goal is for the testing to provide a detailed picture of what your child knows and is ready to learn--whether it is on, above, or below grade level--and to plan instruction accordingly.

Celebrating our Nation
We will be Celebrating our Nation during Catholic Schools Week on Thursday, February 2. One way we would like to do this is by honoring our active military members during morning prayer.
Please send us the names of friends or family members who are currently serving our country in the United States Armed Forces so that we can honor them. These names will be read during morning announcements, and a prayer will be said in their honor.
Names can be sent to Mrs. Klepcyk at sklepcyk@saintpaschal.com by Monday, February 1.
Thank you!

New Altar Server Training in 2023
Please serve God and our community by having our youth learn and grow in service and the Mass! After school, in church until 3:30 pm, join with the other altar servers and Father Lane in learning how to be in the ministry of altar serving, a noble, Catholic tradition here at Saint Paschal Baylon! Join the ranks of Paschal Proud altar servers by seeing the video online and participating in the training Mondays, February 6, 13, 27 & March 6. Installation of new servers will be Sunday, March 19 at the 8:30 Mass or when it is convenient for your family to participate in the liturgy of installation. For those that need it, free extended day will be provided by Father Lane. Register with Katherine Mailer, coordinator at katmailer416@gmail.com. All students in Grades 2 through 8 are eligible.
Playground Volunteers Needed-Kindergarten to Grade 4
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:10 am-12:55 pm. There are many, many time slots open! We are so grateful for the help!
Grade 4 families are asked to volunteer in January, Grade 3 in February, Grade 2 in March, Grade 1 in April, Kindergarten and anyone who would like to help in May/June.
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:10 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting the students to and from the school doors. Volunteers will be with one school staff member each day to help direct.
Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
Thank you again for your time and service to the students and teachers of SPB! Simply click on the following links to sign up: Grade 4, Grade 3, Grade 2, Grade 1, Kindergarten
