NEXT WEEK
MATH: Next week we plan to do more 2-step problems. These can be tricky as they have to think about all elements of the word problem and break it apart. Depending on how we get on, we will be wrapping division up next week and will do a short study guide and test by Friday.
READING: For our non-fiction unit, we are focusing on how text features help us understand a text. For example; what information does the map give us? How does this help you answer a question about the text? Your child will be doing a BAT response next week about a non-fiction text. I worked with each child in a small group this week to make sure they fully understand what is expected of them.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Next week we are continuing to look at influential African Americans and learning more about their history.
** Homework - Please sign your child's agenda on a daily basis to show that your child has completed that night's homework. I expect homework to be turned in on time. Every Monday we write all the homework in our agenda so we know when it is due in. Also, please try and let your child do the homework by themselves, but then check it over with them. We go through homework every day so the children are aware of how they should answer the questions.
