Access to the Building - SIGN UP BELOW
At this time we are allowing limited access to the building.
Below you will find a link in which you can sign up to access Murphy for work or gathering resources to support student education moving forward, as outlined in the governor's executive order.
Please keep in mind the following:
- social distancing norms
- stay home if ill
- limit contact with others in the building
- ONLY be in the building in the time you are signed up for
The link below accounts for 5 staff at a time, in 1 hour increments. This allows for other necessary staff to be in the building, such as custodial, food service and office personnel without creating a potential issue.
***Please be sure you are on the correct date tab within the sign up.

Zoom Tips from Tami
Here are a few tips for running a Zoom classroom:
1- Be prepared. Have a few specific things you’d like to chat about before the meeting knowing that over planning will reduce dead time and anxiety for kids.
2- Mute the audio after everyone says hi and signs in to limit noise (and explain to students why you’re doing it).
3- If students are on a phone, they can “raise their hand” and wait their turn. The teacher will see they have a question/ comment. It is found under the three dots on the bottom right corner.
4- Use names and call on specific students so students waiting know their turn is coming.
5- The first week(s) teach students procedures while having fun. Do a show-and-tell, would you rather, dance party, class share-out on a specific question, enjoy your fave snack time, book share...
6- Have students help you with setting up Zoom rules (stay still while participating, waiting turns, staying on topic).
7- Students do have questions so allow some time for that. Even if they’ve heard it from their parents, they want to hear it from you. Field trips, moving to the next grade, MAPS, meeting up in the summer. If you don’t know the answer, say that! This is new for everyone.
8- Share with kiddos what the next few weeks will look like for them. On Thursday, I’ll see you at whatever time. I need you in the meantime to try to login to GoogleClass and add to your discussion about class norms or a fun learning site we should all check out.
9- As always, I’m always Murphy's coach in addition to some other roles I now have. You’re never bothering me, so ask away. I’d love to collaborate on anything. I’m learning this right along with all of you.
We are all in this together.
Forwarding Phones
If you would like your classroom or office phone forwarded to your cell or home phone, Nick can either do that for you, or you can do it yourself if you have access to your classroom/building.
If you have access to your school phone, simply press the CFwdALL button on your phone (just below the display), press 8 and then your personal phone number (including "1" and area code if necessary), then press the EndCall key. To disable call forwarding, press the CFwdALL key.
If you would like Nick to forward your phone for you, please email him with your home or mobile number and building that you work at and he will do that for you. If you also include your extension, that would help (but is not necessary).
Teachers that do not want their phone forwarded need to periodically check the voicemail on their classroom phone by calling (810) 538-1675 and entering their extension when asked for "ID," followed by #, and then their password.
A teacher can use *67 before placing a call to the student/parent in order to block the teacher's home/cell number from being displayed.
