Friendly Reminders
Doors Open - As the temperature begins to drop we wanted to send out a reminder that everyday our doors open at 8:25 AM! We have had a lot of students arriving to campus between 7:30 and 8:25, and during this time the students are not being monitored. Student monitoring begins when doors open at 8:25 AM.
Telephones/Cell Phones - We believe cell phones and bluetooth-connected devices can be a distraction to the learning environment. Cell phones are to be put “away for the day,” and are not to be used by students during school hours from 8:35 to 3:55 p.m. without teacher permission. The school offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to receive phone calls. Students may use the office phone when necessary. Messages will be delivered to students as needed. As such, please assist us by NOT messaging or directly contacting your student during the day. Headphones or earbuds can only be used with teacher permission for educational purposes.Violation of this policy will result in a cell phone discipline plan as follows:
First Offense: Students will be given one reminder to put the device (phone or accessory) away. If the device is out again, the adult will confiscate it for the remainder of the day. Parents will be notified by the teacher or staff member.
Second Offense: The student device will be taken to the office and can be picked up by the student at the end of the school day. Violation will be formally noted in the office. Parents will be notified by office staff.
Third Offense: Parents must come get the phone and the student will be placed on a Cell Phone Discipline Plan, which will require the student to check their phone in to the office at the start of the day, and pick it up at the end of the day.
(Determined in accordance Weld RE-4 School Board Policy - JS)
Student Dress – We believe students need to dress differently for varying occasions and environments. Students are expected to come to school as neat and clean as possible. Student dress should be appropriate and safe — clothing should cover the “core” and any undergarments (from shoulders to thigh), yet head and eyes should be visible in the building.
Hats, hoods, and head coverings are not be worn in the school building
Tops need to cover mid-drifts and undergarments
Lower body garments must cover the bottom and be visible beneath long tops
Clothing with inappropriate or suggestive words, slogans, symbols, or images are not permitted.
Students will be asked to change into school-provided clothing or call home for a change of clothing if in violation of this policy. (Determined in accordance Weld RE-4 School Board Policy - JICA)
