A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
This week we enjoyed more Thanksgiving preparations, herding sheep, painting turkeys, and baking pumpkin bread. Next week we will have our Thanksgiving feasts and continue practicing for the upcoming Christmas programs!
If you will not be using all four Christmas Program tickets, please return them to school in your child's folder before Thanksgiving break.
Please remember the school is closed next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for Thanksgiving break. I'm sure many of you are looking forward to seeing friends and family. In order for ECDC to continue operating full time, we must all do our part remaining vigilant in our efforts to stay safe. Please continue wearing masks, distancing, washing hands, and staying home if you are ill. If anyone in your household is exposed to a suspected or positive COVID-19 case during the Thanksgiving break, it will be imperative to take precautionary measures, which may include a 14-day quarantine. See the statement below from our Medical Advisory Committee. The CDC gives specific recommendations for holiday gatherings and they can be found here.

MEDICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE STATEMENT
Medical Advisory Committee Statement
The Marquette Medical Advisory Council is keenly aware of the community covid trends as we continue to communicate with the school administration. With the current available data, it appears that our school’s preventative measures are working. However, we cannot control the mitigation efforts of our community outside of school.
The biggest threat to in-person learning is the ability to staff our classrooms. Therefore, as a community, serious and consistent efforts must be acted upon to prevent the spread of Covid-19. In order to avoid changing to virtual learning, it is imperative that you practice the following.
If anyone in your immediate family has reason to believe they were exposed to Covid-19 and are showing symptoms, we ask that you contact the administration before sending your child to school.
Have each member of your family (above age 4) wear a mask consistently and properly.
Avoid unnecessary indoor gatherings.
When in doubt, withhold your child from school when potential symptoms of Covid-19 are present in order to avoid the spread and possible exposure of the classroom. We know how difficult this can be with the current allergy index. For further questions, please contact your child’s pediatrician. Listed are the most common COVID symptoms in children:
Fever or chills
Cough
Nasal congestion or runny nose
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Diarrhea
Nausea or vomiting
Stomach ache
Tiredness
Headache
Muscle or body aches
Please have the perspective that the current pandemic does not have an end in sight. Fatigue in following mitigation strategies is real, however, it presents a real risk to our health and ability to continue with in-person learning.

All guests over the age of two must have a ticket to enter.
