Second Grade Swimming
Second grade swim lessons will meet as follows:
Mrs. Jarema's homeroom Thursdays for 4 weeks beginning Apr. 5
Mrs. Mitchell's homeroom Mondays for 4 weeks beginning Apr. 9. Makeup date May 3rd.
Mr. Isch's homeroom Wednesdays for 4 weeks beginning Apr. 11.
Students should always bring their swimsuit and towel, and an extra t-shirt is recommended.
SECOND GRADE HABITAT MUSEUM

3rd/4th Grade Music Production
When: Thursday, April 26 at CMHS Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.
What to wear: White tops and black bottoms. Additional costume pieces provided, if needed.
Where to meet: Meet your teacher in the Commons area before the show at 6:45 p.m.
More info: Students will bring home a packet of song lyrics to practice at home.
If performing a speaking part, script will be given to practice lines.

We are also excited to announce that on April 30, Author/Illustrator Nathan Hale will meet with all grades. A big thanks to The Council for the Arts, the PTO, and the Rayder Enrichment Foundation.
The ever popular Emmy award winning artist, Mark Kistler, will be here for all grades on May 17th. Mr. Kistler hosts drawing instruction programs to teach the freedom and joy of drawing. Thank you to the Charlevoix Counsel for the Arts for providing this opportunity.
On May 22, K-4 students will take a Buck Wilder adventure with Author Tim Smith. Students will be encouraged to wear their camoflauge, fishing vests, or hunting pants on May 22!

2018-2019 SPORTS EVALUATIONS
FREE pre-participation sports evaluations will be available for current 4th through 6th grade students at Charlevoix Middle High School on Wednesday, April 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Students will bring home a letter and blank physical form to be filled out and signed prior to April 25th. 6th grade students returning forms to school will be bused to the middle high school for this activity. 4th & 5th grade parents are welcome to pick up their child from school to take advantage of this opportunity. This sports evaluation will be valid for all sports during the 2018-2019 school year. Thank you to the Munson Healthcare Charlevoix team of physicians willing to give of their time to our athletes!
Charlevoix Community Skatepark Opens May 5
Charlevoix Community Skatepark on Carpenter St. will open on Saturday May 5, 2018 at noon. The Park will be open on weekends only until mid-June.
Camp McSauba 2018
Registration is now open for the 2018 summer day camp season! Camp is open for all kids ages 5 - 13. Camp Director, Jane Milan has 8 fun-filled weeks planned - sure to make for some happy campers!
2018 T-Ball Registration is Now Open!
T-Ball is open to all Boys and Girls ages 5 – 7. All games will be played at the T-Ball field on Carpenter Ave. Games are held on Monday and Wednesday at 6:30 and 7:30 beginning June 18. You will receive a team schedule prior to the start of the games. The fee for participation is $25.00 per player. Please make checks payable to City of Charlevoix – Recreation and drop off or mail to 210 State Street Charlevoix, MI 49720, or click on the Programs tab to register online.
Pop Warner Football Registration
Registration forms will be sent home with 3rd through 6th grade students on Friday this week. Checks are made payable to Charlevoix Pop Warner. Scholarships available. Cost is less if you register before May 31st. Season begins mid/late August. Contact Don Jess at email@example.com.
College for Kids
Save the dates! June 19-21, 2018 / 9am-2:30pm
College for Kids is a 3-day summer program of enrichment classes operated by the Char-Em ISD. Classes are designed for students currently in grades 2-8 to study a particular subject or field of interest in depth. Held at NCMC in Petoskey. Young Americans Summer Camp
The Young Americans Summer Camp is coming to Harbor Springs High School!
Open to students entering grades 3 - college in the surrounding area. Join this international touring cast at Harbor Springs High School for 35 hours of high-energy, comprehensive performing arts camp. Students will experience everything from vocal techniques, dance, and comedy improvisation, to stage movement, sound, lighting, and more.
Week 1 -- June 26-30: Take the Stage
Week 2 -- July 2-7: Best of Broadway
Week 3 -- July 24-28: Take the Stage
Week 4 -- July 31-August 4: Best of Broadway
Each camp culminates in a 2-hour performance for the community. By learning a show in just 5 days, students are able to learn teamwork, discover their individual potential, and walk away with a huge sense of accomplishment at the end of the week, all in an encouraging and positive atmosphere!
Cost: $219 - Take the Stage, $229 - Best of Broadway. Save $15 per camper when you sign up more than 1 camper on the same registration. You will also receive $15 per camp when you register for more than one week. Limited scholarships are available, simply register and just before the payment page there is an option to submit a scholarship application.
