Welcome

Rancho Vista High School 2022-2023

Message From The Principal

August 3, 2022

Dear Parents and Students of Rancho Vista High:

My name is David Schlottman and I am very happy to have been selected as your new principal.

I want you to know right up front that I will be working with everyone in the community (Students, Parents, Staff, Community Members) to ensure that our schools continue to offer quality programs that enable students to earn their diplomas, and get the training and preparation for the next stage of life--whether that be more schooling or the world of work/career. Graduating from high school and getting ready for “what’s next” remain our top priorities for all students.

My background is that I have been a high school, middle school, elementary school and district office administrator over the past 20+ years. Before I became an administrator I taught for a total of ten years at the middle and high school levels, and enjoyed it immensely!

I was raised in San Diego and have lived for the past six years in Escondido, CA. I have been a part of Temecula Valley Unified School District for six years: this school year will be my seventh with the district.

I love to work with students and with communities….I look forward to being an active member of this Community and getting to know you all!

As we get closer to the first day of school please keep these items and dates in mind:

Student Schedules

Students are required to be enrolled in at least 4 classes while attending RVHS. Most students take classes periods 1-6 (early schedule) or periods 2-7 (late schedule) . Students may take 7 classes if needed. All students are enrolled in a Credit Recovery class using Edgenuity to retake any previously failed classes.

RVHS Student Schedule and Elective Survey

During Rancho Strong Week, students will complete a survey indicating whether the student prefers an Early Schedule or a Late Schedule. The survey also asks what electives a student prefers to take. Failure to complete the survey may result in a student’s schedule and elective being chosen for the student.
