The Weekly Hoot

April 20-26, 2015

Greetings All -

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and didn't get washed away with all of the rain we have had. I know in July and August we will be so glad we have had this rain, but right now I am so over it! LOL!

We got the 5th grade Reading scores in on Friday and the fifth graders did a great job. We are at a 79% passing rate going into the 2nd administration. I am still working on the Index 2 progress measure, but I will keep you posted on that as we work on it.

Connie and I are working on summative evaluations, and we will be getting with you to schedule a summative conference as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience with this.

On Monday night, the school board approved the addition of another teacher in 3rd grade next year. You will see two teacher positions on the job postings. One is the second one is Lynn Imhoff's position that she will be hired for full time next year. We also have one instructional assistant's position posted due to the fact that Jamie Mock will be staying home with her baby boy next year. We wish Jamie well and are glad that she gets this special time at home with her son.

Once again, we had a successful Hooty Hustle on Saturday. The weather held out and everyone seemed to have a great time. As soon as I have totals, I will let you know.

Lastly, this is our big week of testing. Amberly has sent out schedules and we think we are ready. Thanks again for all of the hard work you have done in preparing the students for this week. I know we are going to do GREAT! :)

Love to all,

Owl Wings This Week Go To...

Mary Kroll and all the volunteers that came out on Saturday for the 3rd annual Hooty Hustle. You all went out of your way to help our school on a weekend and I couldn't be more grateful.

Also, Lisa Lara for being the driving force in helping one of your students apply for Sea Camp. Whether or not he gets the scholarship to go, he will remember the fact that you took time out to help him get the chance. :)
