Doerr Stop

Doerr Library's Student Newsletter

Hello!

Welcome to the first installment of the new Doerr Stop! Over the next few months, be sure to check back for library happenings, new additions to the collection, and to learn more about library services.

Teens' Top Ten

Each year teens from across the United States vote on their favorite fiction books published during the previous year. By the end of the process, ten books are identified as the favorites. We did a pretty good job of predicting the winners this year and already own most of them. Looking for something to read, check out the Teens' Top Ten list.

New to the Doerr

The 2014-2015 school year will see the addition of three new databases to the library's website:

The first is the Historic New York Times database. With this great resource, students can access over 150 years worth of New York Times articles on all varieties of topics that have fascinated Americans for over a century.

Historical New York Times Newspaper (ProQuest)

Next, the library is now home to the eLibrary Science database. this resource makes it easy to research and write on scientific topics, as well as answer quick science questions that come up throughout your semester and year.

The Learning Express LIbrary database provides users with ACT and SAT prep, tutorials to help you through the process, and helpful hints for successful testing. Additionally, it provides AP assistance and tutorials as well.

International Game Day in the Doerr Library

Please join us on January 9th and celebrate International Game Day in the Doerr LIbrary. We will be playing board games, computer games, video games, and some oversized games.
