Academic Support Program (ASP)
ASP has begun!! Have you returned your permission slip?
Students were invited to participate in this opportunity if they met certain grade level standards. If your student was invited, we encourage you to allow them to participate. This will give your student additional opportunities to learn in a small group setting. Saturn has even made arrangements with the transportation department to have bussing available on a corridor schedule.
If your student is riding the ASP Bus, be sure to remind your student of the bus stop. These stops are not the normal bus stops on our regular routes.
If you want your student to participate but they still need a bus, please email or call Ms. McCluney at mccluney.kellee@brevardschools.org or 321-633-3535.

The Junior Achievement program offers opportunities for our students to learn about financial readiness, hands-on skills, and life skills. The Junior Achievement organization is coordinating community volunteers to spend the day at our school sharing their talents! We are looking forward to this special day at Saturn on Friday, November 17th.

Calling all 6th Grade Families!
It's time to start thinking about where your child will attend middle school next year! If you are considering Kennedy Middle School read the flyer below for information about their Cambridge program.
We will continue to share information when we receive it from other schools.
Free Soccer Camp
One of the Senior High students at Edgewood Jr/Sr High is working with his soccer club and Parks & Recreation to host a soccer camp for students in grades 1-6. This will take place in the north end of the county. He has a lot of support from the community and all volunteers are safe-sport certified, which requires background checks and fingerprints.
If you are interested, see the flyer below for more information.
Fall Pictures are Available
Fall picture retakes are now completed. They are ready for viewing by our families. Even for those who did not pre-pay, there is still a chance to place an order through a convenient second chance program. All orders from here on out will be shipped directly to your homes. See the flyer below for more details.
Bus Reminders!
If your student rides a bus in the morning or afternoon, please review the rules below with them. Bus drivers are able to write referrals for students based on the rules below.

Reminders
Photo ID Required
Brevard Public Schools now has a policy which requires all parents, guests, and visitors to report to the Front Office when arriving on campus. Be sure to always have a photo ID with you while on campus. A photo ID is required to check your child out of school. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Early checkouts must be made before 1:45 on Monday through Thursday and before 12:30 on Fridays. When students are checked out early, they are missing important academic time. Saturn teaches on a bell to bell schedule. We are instructing your students until the bell rings each day. We do appreciate your support and understanding.
Dismissal changes must be made in writing. Please send or bring a written note and be sure the teacher and front office understands the change.
Early dismissal happens every Friday. Students are dismissed at 1:15pm.
Speak Out!
If you see something, say something. Did you know you can report suspicious or concerning behaviors and activity?
SpeakOut Hotline: 800-423-TIPS
SpeakOut Hotline is available for you to anonymously report any threatening behavior or situation that endangers you, your family, friends, community, or your school campus. Reporting to this hotline is not "snitching". Reporting is when you need to keep yourself or someone you know safe from threats, harmful behaviors, or dangerous situations. SpeakOut guarantees the caller's anonymity and allows the caller to give information without the fear of retribution.
Fortify (app)
FortifyFL is a suspicious activity reporting tool that allows you to instantly relay information to appropriate law enforcement agencies and officials.
Student Code of Conduct

Annual Asbestos Notification
Our records indicate that no asbestos removal activities or any other type of asbestos response actions have taken place at Saturn Elementary School during the past year (July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023).
Background Information
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires all accredited school districts to provide building occupants with a yearly correspondence describing any/all asbestos materials removed from each school during the past year.
The EPA Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of 1986 required an asbestos inspection of each school facility nationwide. This inspection was completed in 1988. The scope of the survey included sampling building materials that might contain asbestos, assessing the condition of the materials, performing laboratory analysis of each sample, and writing a comprehensive report called an Asbestos Management Plan.
The Management Plan document and subsequent Three-year Reinspection documents are on file at eh school administration office. These document are available to the public for review.
