Anti- Bullying Week

This week has been Anti-Bullying week, and children have done work in school to help understand what bullying is and how they should deal with it if it happens. Our approach is based on STOP – that bullying is defined as something that happens Several Times On Purpose, and if it happens then children should Start Telling Other People. Please take some time to reinforce this with your child so that if they experience inappropriate behaviours of any sort, they understand how they should deal with it.

Amazon Smile/Easy Fundraising

Don’t forget to use Amazon Smile or Easy Fundraising whenever you can, because these raise essential donations for FOSS. If you are shopping on Black Friday or using Amazon for Christmas presents, do check that you are using Smile. It costs nothing, but makes a big difference.

FOSS Christmas Fayre

The FOSS Christmas Fayre will take place as part of a joint event with the church on Friday 3rd December. There will be lots of activities, details of which can be seen on the posters around school. We are now collecting donations for a chocolate tombola and raffle prizes, and if you are able to donate anything please send it into school with your child by Monday 29th November. Collecting boxes will be located in the office.

Canopy

We have applied for planning permission to erect a canopy outside Willow classroom to provide necessary shelter for children learning outdoors throughout the year. This will only be erected one we are able to finance the project, but it is important that we receive permission in the first place. If you are consulted on the application, your support would be greatly appreciated.

Pantomime

As you know, we are planning to visit the pantomime on 8th December. We are mindful that Covid cases are rising and we want to ensure that the visit is a safe as possible before agreeing that it can go ahead. We have received the risk assessment from the theatre who have confirmed that they have additional sanitisation, cleaning and ventilation in place. We also know that our federation takes all the seats in the ground floor stalls area, which means that we will not sit next to or mix with other schools or members of the public. We will keep the visit under close review and make a final decision on it as late as possible.

Achievement and Progress

Further to the letter sent yesterday, teachers will be sending information about your child’s achievement and progress next week. These may come home on different days for different classes, but all information should have been sent by the end of the week.

Bag to School

On Wednesday 1st December we will be taking part in 'Bag to School' to raise much needed funds for FOSS. Bag 2 School is a company that specialises in the reuse and recycling of good quality second-hand clothing. So bag up your donations and please bring into school before 9am on Wednesday 1st December. Please do not bring your bags before 1st December as we do not have space to store them in school.

School Lunches

Please see the Autumn Lunch menu below. Next week we will be on Week 2 of the menu.

Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.

Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.

Each day there are now 4 choices, either the hot dinner, hot vegetarian option, jacket potato with a choice of toppings or a sandwich. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.

Autumn 2021 Lunch Menu

From 8th September - 18th December 2021. This is our new menu for September - children now have a vegetarian option to choose from as well as a jacket potato or a sandwich.
