A Weekly Look at Grant Elementary School & the Grant PTA
Week of October 3rd
A note from Ms. Saranya
Dear Grant Families,
Happy October Folks! We have a few exciting things on the horizon that I am so excited for. Tomorrow is our Walk & Roll. I encourage all of you to walk, bike, scoot or skate to school! We will have small prizes for students who participate. A huge thank you to Melissa Poole for bringing this event to our community. As a reminder, Monday is Indidenous Peoples’ Day/Columbus Day, so there is no school on 10/10. I also want to bring to your attention our Jogathon will be on 10/14! Please read below for more information on these events.
As always, thank you for your continued support at home!

Get Your Act Together Shamrocks!
Dust off your dancing shoes, shore up your cartwheel skills, and pick up those juggling balls...Grant's Got Talent is back to its usual Fall schedule! We welcome performers from all grades. Duets can be with a parent or non-Grant sibling. Each student can be in up to 2 acts, one group/one solo. We are also looking for a group of 6th grade emcees to tell jokes and introduce the acts. All acts must come to the audition (including Emcees), at least one practice (both practices strongly encouraged), and the Final show!

As always, these activities can't happen without our awesome adult volunteers. We will need help with the music/sound, keeping the kids organized at each rehearsal, and decorating for the big show. We're most in need of a sound person to hook up speakers and the microphones. If you don't already know how to do this, no problem. We have a professional parent who offered to help. Heritage Night - November 4th
For those of you who are not familiar with the event it is an evening when students can come and learn about the different cultures and traditions of our school community. There will be games, fun and an amazing potluck dinner with foods from all over the world!
We are looking for parents who may be involved in a folkloric group and be willing to showcase their art at our school.
Also, keep your eyes open for a sign-up genius for folks wanting to host a table about their heritage.
