MCES Weekly Top Five For Parents
UPDATES AND REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 9
A MESSAGE FROM ADMINISTRATION
Greetings Montclair Families,
In our efforts to keep you updated with the most recent updates around the county and at Montclair, the administration team would like to inform you of important details within our school community.
On November 14, CCS will host the CCS Virtual Choice Fair. The Choice Program application process for the 2021-2022 school year will open on November 16, 2020. The application can be accessed via the Family Dashboard. Cumberland County Schools is proud to offer various Choice Programs tailored to meet students' diverse needs. Choice Programs are uniquely themed concepts implemented at select schools throughout the district. You can exercise your power of choice within CCS by learning more about the Choice Programs available to students and select a program that best matches your child's interests and future goals.
Montclair's staff will be collecting food items from November 9th - 18th during the school lunch pick-up time (11:00-12:30). You may bring items to the school during these hours, and a staff member will be outside to receive. Feel free to drop items off at the front entrance door if needed between 8:00 am and 3:00 Monday through Friday. The food items collected will be distributed to less fortunate families before the Thanksgiving holiday. Thanks in advance for your kindness and generosity!
Dr. Connelly has shared his school re-entry plan, and recommendation at the next Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at 8:30 am. This recommendation will be reviewed at the meeting on November 10; however, no action will be taken during this meeting. Meeting materials are available on Board Docs. We ask that you take a moment to complete the anonymous survey below to assist the Board of Education in deciding on Dr. Connelly's recommendation. The anonymous survey will close at 5:00 pm on Thursday, November 12.
Lastly, please encourage your child to continue to turn in all asynchronous assignments for their core subjects and their resource classes. Please re-emphasize to your children that even though this is unusual circumstances that we are currently facing, we all must still meet the expectations of Cumberland County Schools as well as Montclair Elementary School.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact Mrs. Powell or Mr.Gillespie, the school's administration team.
