Jag E-News
Sartartia Middle School 11.8.20
Hey Jags,
This week has been a super busy one. We got to enjoy our first week of face-to-face athletics and had a show-out week with Football, Cross Country, and Volleyball! The extracurricular activities just reminds me of how talented, dedicated, and awesome our kids and staff/coaches truly are. Our students continue to inspire me every day as they engage, lead, and innovate in their classes and beyond. Please take a moment to watch the video below created by one of our 7th grade students in her AVID class.
We have a busy couple of weeks as we approach Thanksgiving Break. This week we will have more athletic events, our monthly PTO meeting, a Spirit Night, and we will welcome more of our online learners to campus for a reimagined picture day. You also have the opportunity to request a change in your student's learning model for Term 3 through Thursday, November 12. We are looking forward to the week ahead! Have a great week Jags!

This form only needs to be completed if a change is requested. If a student is staying in their current learning model, no action is required. It is also important that our families understand that late requests completed after November 12 will be added to a waitlist for further consideration in January, after Term 3 schedules are set and the new term is underway. Click here for more information on how to complete the form.

Parent Support: Saving Student Work
As Fort Bend ISD students have increased their use of digital platforms, it has become increasingly important that students save and back up their work as a best practice. This best practice is critical to avoid data loss in instances of student schedule changes. The District recommends two methods for students to save and back-up their work: Schoology Portfolios and Microsoft OneDrive.
- Schoology Portfolios can be used as digital storage to save student work or showcase achievements and reflect on what they learn. The table below explains how to create the Schoology Student Portfolio and utilize this feature to save student work.
- Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud-based storage solution that is more secure and accessible than using device storage or flash drive storage. Even if something were to happen to the device, the personal files and folders would still be on OneDrive.
The attached document provides information on how to use the Schoology Portfolio and Microsoft OneDrive to save student work.

PTO Cash Drive
As you know the school is under construction. We need your help to bring a few blank walls to life. Your donations will help cover the cost of a new mural being painted in the big gym. Additionally, the curved wall by the counseling office is being covered with a printed mural that will motivate and inspire the students. We kindly ask for a monetary donation to the SMS PTO Cash Jag Drive. This is the only cash fundraiser drive for our PTO for the school year. Our annual goal is $25,000 and by donating $25/student we can definitely reach that goal! Please consider donating. Thank you to those who have already donated.
Donate online or download the form to donate in person or by mail.
PTO Corporate Sponsorships
Do you own a business or know someone who does? Would you like to get your business name out in the community? The SMS PTO is looking for business sponsors for the 2020-2021 school year. There are several different sponsorship levels. If you or someone you know would be interested, please click here for more information. Questions? Contact Nina at ninacsepta@gmail.com
