Message From The Principal
Hornet Families,
Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had an enjoyable and restful Winter break! We are excited for the return of students tomorrow morning as we are eager to start this new semester! Over the next few weeks our K-3 students will be assessed using the middle of the year benchmark assessments. These assessments are important for our staff to understand the current level of your student and provide information as we seek to provide high-quality instruction for all students. Please reach out to your student's teacher with any questions about your student's progress.
Also, as a reminder, the new student check-in and check-out times will take effect tomorrow. In order for students to be counted in attendance for the school day they must check-in no later than 10:20AM and must not check-out earlier than 12:40PM.
I look forward to continuing to partner with you as we ensure the success of our school and the success of all of our students the remainder of this school year.
Please read through the newsletter below for important information!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support,
Dr. Allen M. Wilson
Principal

PBIS Incentive Reminder
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Support. The goal of PBIS is to help reinforce positive behaviors in order to create a welcoming, well-rounded learning environment for each student. This school year we have been holding quarterly PBIS Celebrations. In order for students to attend each celebration, they have to earn 10 tokens. They can earn tokens from any teacher, anywhere in the school. Students are not expected to keep up with their tokens. They are organized in their homeroom teacher’s classroom. At the end of each 9 weeks (grading period), all of the students that have earned 10 tokens will take part in a fun incentive for achieving their goal!
If a student is able to attend 3 out of the 4 quarterly celebrations, they will go to the Cumulative Event at the end of the school year. We look forward to a successful second semester!
