Belmont Elementary: A PAWSitive Place to Learn!

Welcome to PeAcE wEeK at Belmont!

The month of October marks the nationwide campaigns for Bully Prevention and Drug Awareness. Our goal is to empower our Bulldogs with the knowledge they need to stop bullying at Belmont and beyond, as well as teach skills for living healthy, drug-free lives. This is done throughout the year in a variety of ways, but we will officially be celebrating Peace Week Monday, October 10th- Friday, October 14th and have a designated Peace Week lesson during their counselor class. Our theme this year is, “Celebrate Life. Live drug and bully free.” There is a daily activity calendar for all of October if you want to participate! Just jump in wherever you'd like- it's not the day that matters, it's the experience you have as a family that makes the difference!

Spirit days and activities for Peace Week include:

Monday, Oct 10: Today is World Mental Health Day, which is to raise awareness of the importance of mental health issues. BE supportive of this health initiative by wearing green to show your support.

Tuesday, Oct 11: Hat’s off to BEing you…wear your favorite hat.

Wednesday, Oct 12: Your future is bright when you BElieve you can…wear bright clothes.

Thursday, Oct 13: BE Bulldogs work hard to be kind and make healthy choices…wear your favorite workout gear.

Friday, Oct 14: BE united against bullying and drugs…wear your Chiefs red!

Our children deserve only the best and that's what we're looking for!

If you, or someone you know, might be interested in joining Team BE, please reach out! I can't wait to talk with you to see if our needs meet your needs and your needs meet our needs...you get the idea! Call Pam at 913-667-1810, email to phargrove@usd232.org, or apply online here.
