Middle and High School Choice process
At City Schools, students can choose and apply for the middle or high school of their choice.
City Schools is finalizing plans for this year’s middle and high school choice process. Using Campus Portal, fifth and eighth grade families will be able to complete and submit their Choice applications between December 1, 2022 and January 20, 2023.
Please stay tuned for updates, including details on the upcoming Annual School Choice Fair.
ASCBC elections
All students are encouraged to attend the ASCBC Elections and vote on Wednesday, October 12 at 4:30 pm. This is a chance for students to be a part of selecting the leadership team of ASCBC for the next school year and share their questions and concerns with SGA leadership candidates. To encourage citywide participation and ensure everyone has access to the event, this election will be held online on Zoom.
Bullying prevention month
October is Bullying Prevention Month. We will have programs in our schools this month about various topics, including kindness, what bullying is, speaking up, reporting bullying, and more.
On Monday, October 17, students will take the Bullying Prevention Pledge. This pledge is a commitment to creating a safe space for all.
Another main activity will be Unity Day on Wednesday, October 19, where we ask everyone to wear orange to show support for Bullying Awareness.
Families, please talk with your students about bullying prevention, who to speak to in school about bullying, and spreading acceptance and respect for others. Please help us in our efforts to make kindness go viral.
Families getting involved
The Parent and Community Advisory Board (PCAB) advises the City Schools' CEO and the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners about how parents, families, the community, and educators can collaborate to help our youth succeed. This is one way that parents can come together and speak up about what's going on in schools, what's going well and what can change. Let your voice be heard. Get involved with PCAB!
PCAB meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of the month, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Please check PCAB's Facebook page for up-to-date virtual or in-person location information.

High schoolers earn while they learn in credit recovery programs
