Who We Are
Mission: The community of Sunset Valley will educate our students to achieve their highest standards of performance by engaging them in exceptional opportunities.
Vision: To create an optimal learning experience that promotes ongoing collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and communication with students, teachers, parents, and community members for the success of all students.
Multicultural Night - "Taste of Sunset"
I am excited to announce that we are planning our very first multicultural night! We are calling our event, “Taste of Sunset”. It will be held on Thursday, February 21 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. At this family event, participants will be able to “travel” with their passports to learn about different countries and cultures through food, music, dance, mini-language lessons and more! Given the rich diversity of cultures in our community, I am reaching out to our school families to see who is interested in sharing any talents, recipes, or cultural artifacts that could help make this an extra-special night for our students & families. Some of the things we would love for you to share are (but are not limited to):
- traditional songs and dances
- picture display
- cultural art projects
- clothing or other artifacts
- recipes & tastings
- cultural games
- volunteers to share & read aloud a children’s book from their culture
- volunteers to give mini language lessons (counting to 10, colors, greetings, etc)
I hope that this event will be both educational and fun for everyone and that we can better appreciate the wonderful cultures that we have represented in our school community!
