Gilbert El Families,
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a joyful break and are ready to conquer the 2nd semester. As you are well aware the situation with school and COVID are very fluid right now as numbers rise. The school board met last night and sent out communication in the early morning regarding hybrid and the return to school.
In highlighting some of the key components of the governing board decision, we will the following:
- K-12 students will return to school in a hybrid delivery model until January 29 or earlier when vaccines are made available to educators.
This week's hybrid schedule:
- Tues 1/5 & Thurs 1/7 - Students with last names A-L
- Wed 1/6 & Fri 1 /8 - Students with last names M-Z
**Further communication regarding an alternating day hybrid schedule to begin Monday, January 11th for the duration of hybrid learning. Specific dates and information to follow.
From Nutrition Services:
Curbside meals will continue to be offered at Gilbert Public Schools elementary school locations only during hybrid. The student does not need to be present. Families may pick up one free breakfast and one free lunch per child, Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 9:00 am, on the days they are not attending in-person school.
District and the school will continue to provide updates as changes occur. As always thanks for your support, understanding, and flexibility.
**While at home during hybrid learning, please remember to log into the BUZZ platform for attendance purposes.
Thanks, Gracias,
Justin
