Reminder | High School Hang Out Area
We are so excited that you have the high school hang out area to, as the name states, hang out with your friends during lunch breaks, free periods, and so on, but please remember that this is a privilege that has been earned, but we must also work to MAINTAIN it as well. That means that you need to refrain from throwing objects, running, destroying property, etc. You must treat this area with respect if we want this to remain an area for just high school. One student’s mistake could result in privileges lost for all.
Lastly, please refrain from going upstairs (elementary areas) unless you’re going to a class, the cafeteria, or media center. HS has their own area so there’s no reason you should be upstairs. being upstairs could result in discipline for being out of assigned area resulting in conduct points
CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT ISSUE OF THE MUSTANG VOICE; A NEWSLETTER BY STUDENTS FOR STUDENTS
"Fellow Mustangs, welcome to the fourth issue of the “Mustang Voice” a student written newsletter of Fulton Science Academy Private School. We are very excited for the third installment of our newsletter, which is written by the students for the students. Our main focus for this issue will be to inform students of upcoming events, updates in the sports world, address problems students may be experiencing and do our best to offer advice and solutions, and finally to showcase student submissions.
This will be a weekly publication during the academic school year, and monthly during summer break. We will also accept comments, feedback, and suggestions for this newsletter in a google form, located at the end. As our community comes together, during this uncertain time, a common newsletter to share thoughts and words of inspiration and comfort is so important. This newsletter will be a safe place to share thoughts, problems, and all submissions will stay anonymous unless you would like your name to publish. We would love to hear from you."

Biomedical Engineering Innovation for High School Students
Are you a student who excels in math and science? Designed with the intellectually curious student in mind, Johns Hopkins Biomedical Engineering Innovation offers a challenging and fun online course that sparks an interest in engineering and STEM exploration.
Applications are being accepted for the January 25, 2021 course, so there is still time to apply.
"I loved doing the final project! It was really fun to investigate something that was entirely something you chose and something that you were interested in. After a few weeks of stressing about it and trying to come up with the best topic and experimental design it was great to finally get into the project!"
Johns Hopkins faculty created the Biomedical Engineering Innovation course to encourage creativity and instill confidence in students. In the course, students will model human efficiency and the cardiovascular system and design experiments to test these models and more. And students have the opportunity to earn college credit and strengthen their college applications!

How Does Aftercare Work for High School Students?
High School Families,
We would like to openly tell you that when more students stay for after school care, it will be harder for us to protect the safety of after school care students during the pandemic. Therefore, If your child is not staying for After-School Clubs or Tutoring, we strongly ask you to pick up your child between 3:16 pm and 3:40 pm.
If your child stays for After-School Clubs or Tutoring, please pick-up your child between 4:00 pm - 4:10 pm.
After school care begins at 4:10 pm and continues until 5:30 pm.
For those students who regularly use after school care, we recommend the monthly payment plan to save money. After school care fee is $20 per day for the monthly payment plan. If you are not interested in a monthly registration, you will indicate this on the form sent in your email. You will be charged $30 per day as you use after school care. After 5:30, the fee increases to $40, and $1 is added for each minute after 6:00. If a student is not taken by 7:00 pm, we will inform the local safety authorities for the safety of the student.
If your child will be joining after school care, you will follow the drive to pass the front of the school and park your car at the far end of the building. After parking your car, you will enter through the courtyard entrance. You will not come inside the school building. Please enter the courtyard, and knock on the door "L25" for Middle School and "HS Hangout" for High School students. The images below will help you to see where to park, enter the courtyard, and pick up your child. Please make sure to have your carpool card with you. Please make sure to be wearing a mask, and please maintain social distancing while traveling up the stairs to get your child. Once you have picked up your child, please exit from the same courtyard entrance.
Please note: families are not permitted to gather and remain in the courtyard area after picking up their children.
