There's "Gnome" Place Like River Place. #RPEbuildsPRIDE
Message from the Principal, Dr. Amy Sharp
The 2022-23 school year is around the corner, and the excitement is bustling through the hallways of River Place Elementary already. It is such a blessing to work alongside so many dedicated educators who serve your children. I am truly thankful I was chosen to serve River Place.
Last week, I had the opportunity to meet a few of our families at the "Popcorn with the Principal" meet and greet event. Thank you for taking time out of your summer to pop by and say, "Hi". It was a joy engaging with you and meeting our students. Below are a few pictures from the event. I want to thank our office team, Ms. Smith, Ms. Cmet, and Ms. Lewis, for their efforts in creating such a beautiful space. It was a warm welcome, and I am still smiling from it!
In an effort to support communication this year, we will share this weekly Tuesday newsletter, The Titan Times. In this newsletter, you will find important dates, happenings on campus, and other information to support our partnership with our families. Therefore, please look for this newsletter and take some time to review it to ensure you are in the know with our ongoings and upcoming events/needs.
That is all for now! Soak up these last days with your children. They are precious and quick.
See you soon,
Amy Sharp

| Transportation InformationMORE INFORMATION COMING SOON-- **SDM initial email has not been sent to families yet, but please be on the look out and complete the steps below once it has been received! **We are hoping to send the email as soon as our 22-23 student information is loaded into Home Access Center (HAC). Step 1: You should have (or will soon) receive an email about the School Dismissal Manager (SDM) system that SRE uses to support our campus dismiss process. Please be on the lookout for an email that will be sent to you and please LOGIN to the system. PLEASE check your junk mail/spam folder by searching School Dismissal Manager. You will find your log in credentials at the top of the email and you will be prompted to set up a password for your account. Next, you will set your child’s dismissal information. If you are having trouble, please reach out to Laura Dwyer at laura.dwyer@leanderisd.org. Step 2: Please download the School Dismissal Manager App or save the School Dismissal Manager website, on your phone or your computer, so you can always have it handy. **If you already have the app, from last year, when you open the application, it will prompt your to update your version. It is very easy to do so! This application is a one stop shop where you can set your child’s permanent mode of transportation and also make changes as needed to their dismissal selection. The application will be used by parents who wish to make a transportation change for their child. Please note that all transportation changes must be made in the system by 1:50PM on normal school days. Step 3: If your child is a car rider, you will need to fill out a Car Tag. We will have Car Tags available at Open House, on the 1st day of school, or you can print your card tag at the link below. You will need to show your card tag in the pick up line each day. You should include the following information:

| Bus Routing & SMART Tag Information for Bus RidersLeander ISD’s TransFinder’s InfoFinder i software allows LISD parents to get information on their students’ bus stop locations and times by simply entering their street address and the student’s grade level. TransFinder will then give you a map showing your child’s assigned elementary or secondary bus stop.
SMART TAG The Leander ISD Transportation Department uses SMART Tag – a system that provides accurate, near real-time monitoring of where and when students load onto and unload off of their school bus – to help promote student safety and security, keeping parents, school administrators and the district’s transportation department more informed. Bus riders are issued a SMART card, which they scan as they get on and off the bus. SMART Tag Parent Portal Parents and guardians can go to the SMART Tag Parent Portal and select Register to begin the registration process. Once registered, parents and guardians can sign up for SMART Alerts to receive a text message notification 10 to 15 minutes before the bus arrives at their child’s bus stop.
