Boosterthon Color Run
Your child brought home a Color Run packet last week containing information about this year's run! All students MUST return the permission slip in order to participate in the run. We have some great incentives this year! The top earning class will earn a special activity hosted by Silly Willyz! We also have school-wide incentives!
$20,000 in pledges - Crazy Hair Day -Reached this!
$30,000 in pledges - Twin Day - Reached this!
$40,000 in pledges - Pajama Day
$50,000 in pledges - Hallway Dance Party! (Ms. Booker's Favorite)
In addition to these incentives, each student will receive a prize when he/she reaches their individual $100 goal. Horizon students that reach this goal will earn an individual color packet to throw during the run!

Math
Students spent time this week comparing fractions and converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions. In addition, we took our first math quiz. Students will be bringing this home Friday. Although this quiz is not recorded in the gradebook, it is a great tool for the students and me to assess their learning.
If your child is struggling with math homework, please have them take a moment to look at our math videos on our webpage. Mrs. Kingsley and I worked on recording videos that students can use as a resource, as they navigate through fractions this unit.
Next week, we will begin to add/subtract fractions and mixed numbers with unlike denominators.
BizTown
They were introduced to the concept of the circular flow of money and goods in an economy through a lemonade stand simulation. This taught them how people are members of a community in which they live, work, trade, and share.
