Athletic Updates

The Challand Middle School Volleyball teams are still going strong in this 21-22 season. All nine teams are playing hard and exhibiting excellent team work. 8 Gold brought home a second place trophy from the David L. Rahn Junior High Invitational.

Cross Country just hosted the first ever "Ye Olde Berzerker" English Style Cross Country Run. This unique meet featured a 2.0 mile grass course where runners hurdled/launched off 15” barriers (hay bales) that were situated every 1⁄3 mile, hence “English Style” cross country run. The runners enjoyed the different type of race.

CMS Athletics looking ahead:

Registration is now open for Speech Team, Boys Basketball, Poms, and Cheerleading.

Speech team begins soon (date to come).

Boys Basketball, Poms, and Cheer begin October 12th.

CMS Band & Orchestra

We are having a lot of fun in 6th-grade Beginning Band and Orchestra! This is the first year that we have had this many beginners in 6th-grade and we are incredibly excited. The band and orchestra students have all started to make their first sounds and have learned their first few notes. The positive energy that each student brings to class is amazing and we are so eager to see how they grow as musicians in the weeks to come!

Warrior Way

Last Friday students participated in their first Warrior Way! Students who have no missing assignments and no failing grades are able to attend during the advisory period on Fridays. During Warrior Way concessions are open, music is playing, and equipment is out in the athletic center for students to have social time with peers.

Students who do not qualify receive assistance with their advisory teacher in organization, missing assignments, etc.

COVID & Quarantined Students

A reminder, as students are absent for covid and quarantine reasons, please ensure that they are logging into their Zoom classes and turning in assignments. Students are also responsible for scheduling any makeup assessments that they missed while they were gone.

As a reminder, all missing assignments are accepted until the end of the Unit. This could be different lengths of time depending on the unit. Usually, once the test is taken, late work is not accepted.

Tardy Reminders

Skyward automatically generates tardy discipline for CMS students. After 5 tardies to the same class period, the student receives a lunch detention. After 10 tardies to the same class period, the student receives a 1hr after school detention.

Skyward Tips and Tricks
